I like the photo, but don't like the setting.

As usual the Daily Mail countered this year's christmas card with the last one with Diana. They had done exactly the same the years before. So for me seeing the older cards on the Hello and on Sky News-webpages was really a delight for there has been life after Diana and it was nice to be reminded of that rather than being confronted with the past again and again. Somehow for me it is really ghoulish how some media outlets keep bringing up a corpse again and again instead of omissing the late Diana for good...

They included pictures from 2008, 2005 and 2004 of Charles and Camilla and Charles with the boys. They only included two pictures of xmas cards with Diana.

Ahhhh the ghosts of Christmas Past! One thing that they all were good for in my eyes (literally) was it really stuck out how formal the pictures were in the 80s to how informal and relaxed the picture was this year. Even the camera can't hide the happiness and warmth that exists between Camilla and Charles. Personally I prefer the informal pictures for personal cards rather than the formal settings.

The BBC are reporting that a car that Prince Charles and Camilla are in, presumably on the way to the Royal Variety Performance is being attacked by student protesters on the streets of London. The government has just passed a law to raise school fees to £9000.

Apparently their car was kicked by demonstrators in Regent Street.

CNN is reporting on the air that the cars windows were smashed and that paint was thrown on the car, but Charles and Camilla were not injured. They're promising a live shot in a few moments.

BBC says they got to the event on time, and nothing was smashed. The car just drove off quickly.

I'm watching CNN right now, and they have some rough video that shows a Rolls Royce with a smashed window and paint splatters. The reporter in the UK who shot the video claimed that the broken window was on Prince Charles's side of the car.

According to CNN, Charles and Camilla went on to attend their appointment, the Royal Variety Show. Am delighted at their courage. Keep calm and carry on! Hurrah!

Students are turning out in London to protest against the rise in student fees. The vote was this afternoon, and they have been attacking parliamentary buildings, The Treasury and seeing as London Palladium is not far from where most protestors are, some decided to turn against the royal car when it was seen. Clarence House says the royal couple are unharmed, and are watching the royal variety show.

It's very serious : the image of the royal car with a broken window and covered with paint says it all. A sad evening.
