I don't think that Diana ever wore the "other" Spencer tiara.

I virtually never visit this thread and yet on doing so on this occasion I feel a very odd, almost magical, atmosphere about it. Looking at all the pics takes me back to the days of the Charles and Diana era which I had almost forgotten about. Diana's life, legacy and appeal to the public have been scrutinized and dissected ad infinitum and yet I think she will forever remain an enigma. When Charles and Camilla have gone (and I really don't mean this as an attack on them at all) I think she will live forever in history with the Jackie O'S and Grace Kelly's who went before. She was a very special one off and I don't think the BRF will ever re-create that magic again.
 
I agree. Diana Princess of Wales had a combination of style, beauty, and personality that doesn't come around very often. She was magnetic and glamourous; no matter what happened behind closed doors, the way that she appealed to something in the public can't be denied.

This picture was taken during Charles and Diana's visit to Wales in the fall of 1981. It was Diana's first royal tour after her marriage, and was widely covered in the media.
