Default "Royals...They're (not always, exactly) just like us!"

I think it will be fun to have a counter-thread for the "Royals...They're just like us!"

Ways they are slightly not so much "like us"?

They generally have multiple and very palatial residences; not just one or two, or even three, but more like five, ten, whatever!

Not only do they drive great cars, but many times they are actually driven rather than driving!

They have these burly shadows called protection officers and if anyone bothers them, they can tell the bodyguards to "take care of things!"

Vacations aren't so much vacations, but more like just being somewhere else. They don't have to worry so much about requesting the permission (at work) to have a vacation. They just go! And the vacations are divided up into ... First here, then there, then we breeze through this place, visit a winery at that place, and get back on the yacht on the other place!

^I agree. On the other hand they have to deal with the paparazzi and this is very unpleasant. They violate their private life, look at this pic

it's the biggest proof imo.She was reading the PdV mag during her vacation with her aunt in the cover while she was photographed without even noticing it.So the next week i imagine that she saw herself at the same mag.It must be a very strange feeling reading for you and your family.Common people like us don't have this problem.

Well, yes, the paparazzi are another example of a way in which they aren't so much "like us". It's a broad topic for a thread, because "us" is a big subjective concept, considering we all are different, with various backgrounds. But it was started in fun. I hope it won't get too philosophical! I know exactly what you mean, Beatrice. I'm not trying to undermine your point, just trying to lighten the mood, I guess. Truly, though, I like....well, I don't know how to say it without possibly giving the wrong impression. I have empathy for certain extremes of the paparazzi, but overall, I don't feel very much sympathy for them. They pay a heavy price for fame and fortune, yes, but it's a hollow complaint when you consider others have much worse concerns.
