25 OCTOBER 2004

Princess Caroline of Monaco started a three-day private visit to the Philippines this weekend, her first to the east Asian country.

The eldest daughter of Princess Grace is continuing her mother's charitable legacy on the trip: she's meeting more than 300 street children sheltered by Amade Mondiale, a non-profit established and chaired by the late royal, during a visit to Makati in suburban Manila.

And like her mother, Caroline, who now chairs the organisation, is a hands-on humanitarian – during her fun-filled lunch with the underprivileged children, she cradled one happy two-year old in her lap, reading to her and carefully helping her drink from her cup.

Caroline also had other events on her agenda, hoping to draw attention to the problem of homeless and abused children. A meeting with President Arroyo on Monday was to be followed by a fundraising gala at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

The Monegasque charity Amade Mondiale, which provides homes for homeless youngsters in third world countries, collaborates with Virlane Foundation, one of the largest NGOs in the Philippines

The Grimaldis and Windsors have their own jets would assume most of the others do as well. I know that Princess Caroline would use the Concord to travel to NY.

I know from previous pictures of Caroline and the rest of the family traveling they have taken private planes, but in that last picture it seems she took Air France or something.

The princess came for a working private visit to meet homeless children now staying in 12 shelters set by Virlanie Foundation, a NGO affiliated to the AMADE MOndiale founded by the late Princess Grace.

Some more pics......:)

Personally, I also think she's very beautiful and I like her because she has lived life on her own terms, whether it be good or bad, that requires lots of guts...and I respect her for it...

It's great to see her doing this kind of work. I' m surprised because she always seemed shallow for me.

Is there any video about the trip??

Thank you all for the great photos. It's nice to see Caroline out working. :)

I have really seen Princess Caroline in personal and I would really say that she looks very good when she does not wear those heavy make-up. She looks better in something light. And I would really say that I am proud of her that she visited the Philippines for it was really our great honor to have her.

I can't even imagine our local politicians there going to the place where the princess went. She was already there near the squatters area where it is a big evidence that people in the Phils lives in poverty.
