Default Princess Caroline - President, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo

This thread is about Princess Caroline in her role as President of "Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo". She re-established the official company of the Principality in 1985, in accordance with the wishes of her mother, H.S.H. Princess Grace of Monaco.

Website of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo (English version):
Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo

From the website:
"By recreating, in 1985, the Ballets of Monte-Carlo, H.R.H. the Princess of Hannover enabled the Principality to provide itself with one of the most prestigious companies in the world. Far from being a myth or an image of legend, the Ballets of Monte-Carlo are a reality, a community of men and women of today, ready to share their efforts, their experiences, their talents and their emotions..... Our association was formed to help these young artists, to show them at their full value.....For a few years now, the association has been supporting dancers in their transition into a new professional career.

There is also an "Association of the Friends of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo", led by Elisabeth Bréaud.

In 1909, Diaghilev brought a ballet company to France, then to Monaco. He died in 1929, and the company dissolved. A new company evolved in 1932, but was disbanded in the early 1950s, refounded in 1954, and vanished after the 1962-63 season.
