After seeing the beautiful docu Ingrid in her own words,I think the picture of Caroline with Roberto Rossellini and his mother was taken at the house on the island of Lars, Ingrid's 3rd husband.

Roberto Rossellini is also in the documentary. He's a charming man. I wonder if he and Caroline are still in touch.

The last time I saw a picture of Roberto Rossellini was in Stefano's funeral. I think it was him who introduced Stefano to Caroline.
 
They were still in touch after Stefano's death - there is a picture if him with Andrea only a few months later and also I remember some blurry shots of them talking at a wedding at the time when Caroline had lost her hair. I don't know about now.
 
Thanks @Florestane. I do not know anything about what he is now. Married ? Children ? Nothing. He should be in his sixties now.
 
He was at the 1997 Bal de la Rose with his sister Isabella.

As I remember, Caroline and Robertino had a tender flirt some months after Stefano's death and before Vincent Lindon. The first Christmas after Stefano's death, Grimaldi family went to Jamaica (there are pics from this vacation). Caroline stayed there for a few days more with Robertino and her chlidren. Robertino was very close to her in very serious periods of her life: after her divorce with Junot, after her mother's death and Stefano's death.

Where is the island of Lars ?


And a coincidence: Robertino and Caroline lost their mothers (who both were famous actors) in the same time. Ingrid Berman died in 29 August 1982 and Grace Kelly in 14 September 1982.

As far as I'm aware Caroline and Robertino were romantically involved after her divorce from Junot and split up not long before she became involved with Stefano. They were friends during and after her marriage to Stefano but I don't think there was anything romantic. Her involvement with Vincent Lindon began within 6 months of Stefano's death.

In spring 1982 Caroline had a romance with Guillermo Villas.

I think the picture with Ingrid is from summer 1982, Ingrid looks not well in it. Their mothers died within a few weeks from eachother.
In the first half of 1983 they are said to be engaged.

There were rumours in 1985 of trouble in Caroline and Stefano's marriage when she was pictured with Roberto and Andrea at the beach club.

In 1990 he attended Stefano's funeral and accompanied the Grimaldi's to Jamaica.

Yes, I remember those pictures at the beach club - she was in a green bikini and they were in the pool playing with Andrea - I took the story with a pinch of salt at the time.

Also, the picture with Andrea is late 1990, early 1991 - possibly on that Jamaican holiday you mention. Another magazine I remember having.

He was definitely a good friend to her over the years.

Robertino seems to be a very sincere friend of Caroline and Caroline should be very lucky for their friendship.
 
I always found a ressemblance between Roberto and Prince Ernst August, at least in the early years.

Since when do they know each other? It seems like they have been known each other for quite a long time. I really want to see them together again! Planning the marriage of their children and hanging around!
They are both two beautiful women!!
 
I didn't realise Caroline had been acquainted with Carole Bouquet before Charlotte and Dmitri's relationship. I wonder if that means that Charlotte and Dmitri knew each other during childhood or in their teenage years.

They were both(Charlotte and Dimitri) incredibly beautiful in their teens/ early 20's.
