Did you mean that they were flying to Columbia from NYC for the funeral? I would imagine that the funeral was in his native land of Columbia. Or, maybe in NYC, there was a memorial service?

The father died on March 28th in NYC of an undisclosed disease.

There was a memorial service in NEW YORK and a sort of party at Carlyle Hotel .

Tatiana's father died of lung cancer.

I am pretty sure that the funeral was in NY (at least in a 90%) because the Santo Domingo family has nothing to do with Colombia since Tatianas grandfather, the only one that is currently coming is Andres her uncle, because of the charity work and some of the bussines that the family still has there.
They are a main family in Colombia, but this is not their residence, maybe they spend time in their house of Cartagena, but that's all

I don't think "vintage" cars had seatbelts, and I'm not sure whether they have a special legislation in that regard.

The royalty part can make a difference. I'm not sure about Monaco but I think there is more than one monarchy in Europe in which the monarch at least (perhaps not the whole family) are literally above the law.

You are correct;seatbelts were not automatically placed in cars back then.
