Charlotte Casiraghi's equestrian career

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
No, we can deduce pretty easily at this point that she's not committed. People who work hard at riding improve.
.

We usually agree, Hermione, but this time I don't agree with you, sorry!

I know quite a few dedicated and pasionated people who just have no talent.
People who really care about horses and train most days after a long working-day at the office and they just have no talent.
Some of them lack courage, others are stiff, or lack sensitivity... they keep on trying and they just have no capacities. but they love horses and work hard.

Of course, everybody can ride a 0'80 cm. course, with an old well trained horse. And that's what most of those talentless riders do. Thet know they can't go higher and they stay at that level and they enjoy it nevertheless, because they love riding.

The problem with Charlotte is that she persist on jumping heights that are obviously above her capacities.

I only saw her 1st course in Cannes. She didn't do that bad, really, she took all the jumps more or less correctly.
But God, does she have a hard hand!
Carry was fighting her the whole time, he was so obviously in pain and unconfortable!
I don't know how her eliminations happened, I didn't see the videos. But probably Madison is nor willing to put up with that kind of hard and stiff rider.

Maybe it`s the contract, maybe she just like to do it. It`s the most important thing in sport - to participate, not to win.

Maybe, if you play football. When your mate is a sensitive living being your first concern should be not to hurt him.

How hard do I have to wish to see some pics of her and Valentine together? :whistling:

I'd love that too!

Thierry Rozier and Jessica Springsteen (Bruce's daughter) are listed as riding in the 5* group beginning tomorrow in Monaco. I wonder if Thierry will be riding one of Charlotte's horses.

Fan of M, if you are disappointed in Charlotte's riding wait until you see the Springsteen girl. The father got into a huge lawsuit when they had agreed to buy Pavarotti. The kid then flipped the horse, and they refused to close the sale. Subsequently it did amazingly well.

She has been riding well. She is currently listed 269 in the world. Georgina Bloomberg, Mayor of New York's daughter, had also been doing well until she had a bad fall a year ago. I haven't seen anything on her since. I hope she is doing okay.

Charlotte did a little better today. She came in 22/38 with no faults on Carrie Duff 2 and 34/38 with 5 faults on Costa Virgio. Both were at 1* 1.25m. Electra Niarchos came in 1 and 2nd in the 1.15. Tonight, Thierry is riding Tintero at the 5* 1.45m event. I am happy to see Thierry riding Tintero. He was being wasted. Maybe he should ride Troy also.

I know she started writing a teen series about riding- it's called "The A Circuit". Perhaps she's been focused on that.

Like a wise friend once told me ~ "when one comes from a loving family, it shows, and is passed onto the next generation." How true. :)

Indeed, how true. One of my dear friends has had such a loving family, and it shows. Thank you, Nadine.

Georgina is fine and competing on the circuit. Lake Placid NY at the moment. She had quite a few at Old Salem last month.

And having read the book, I can tell you it's so poorly written as to make 50 shades of grey look like shakespeare...and it has an equal amount of porn. No way would I let my daughter read it. Mayor Bloomberg stopped speakiung to her for a while because of it.

Thanks for the update Scooter. I'm glad to see she's riding again. Weird about the book.

If junior riders are actually doing the things she put in the book, I fear for our sport....such as after hours smoking grass and taking out someone else's $million horse for a bare back 'puissance competition' and crippling said horse. There is not one aspect of that book that isnt awfull.

Not only is she damaging the sport, the book features a billionaire mayor's daughter who had very unpleasant things to say about her father. Daddy warbucks was not best pleased, in real life.

Charlotte rode in the 1.45m today. I haven't seen her try that height before. She came in last and had 15 faults. Yesterday she tried 1.40m with the same number of faults. She's tried that height about 3 times. Not going to guess why.

I keep checking in from time to time to see how Charlotte is doing and don't really have much to contribute to this topic, but all I can say is that I feel sorry for her horses and hope that they're ridden in a safe manner.

She really isn't progressing in the sport. Fortunately she has been lucky and not suffered a serious fall or injury. Her horses do much better when ridden by competent riders.

Yes, naturally it's also a major issue that she could suffer a major injury or fall, especially if a horse balks if it feels its rider is incompetent or if she just can't handle her mounts. She has been fortunate so far.

Charlotte Casiraghi, More PYTs Who Ride Horses Spotlighted By Town & Country (PHOTOS)
Town & Country has spotlighted these show-jumping, dressage-ing (it's a word, y'all) young women in the mag's August 2012 issue and we're actually stunned by how many there are. Charlotte Casiraghi, Monaco royal and Gucci campaign girl, headlines the group, which includes Zara Phillips (daughter of Princess Anne), Jessica Springsteen (daughter of Bruce), Jennifer Gates (daughter of Bill) and Georgina Bloomberg (daughter of Mayor Michael).

They forgot Hannah Selleck, Tom's daughter and Athina Onassis.

Also, Annie Stark, daughter of Glen Close, The Von Heiddeger kids (Khiel's), and many Hedge fund offspring like Olivia Jack and Alexis Stein. How about the BET heiress Johnston, Alison Firestone, Howard Johnson's heiress Alexa Weeks Pessoa, etc. It's said that Bill Gates spent $1million on a WEF lease for the kid.

And about 18 years ago, we had Princess Martha Louise in our barn...

These days Al Bina, if they own or ride a horse in a sanctioned competition, there is no avoiding Phelps Media, Chronicle of the horse etc on line..

Well, the richest heiress of them all is Marta Ortega and she isn't mentioned either. I guess they are too many heiresses in the jumping world to mention all of them. They probably just picked a few of the most famous.

Anyway, imo the most jarring name in the list is Zara Phillips. She is a real pro and one of the best in the world. She is out of place among all those dilettante and socialites.

Americans don't know who Marta Ortega is. I didn't see Bill Gates daughter ranked and I know Charlotte isn't. The others are good riders (Bloomberg, Springsteen, Onassis and Phillips) They shouldn't be downgraded just because they come from wealthy families. They are or were all ranked under 300. This was a puff piece giving the magazine the excuse to put Charlotte on the cover. This is the first time I have seen Charlotte on the cover of a US magazine. Charlotte, your days of being anonymous in the US are quickly coming to an end.

Alison Firestone is the real deal too. She's just had her kids one right after the other, so has been off the score board recently. Same is true for Judy Garafalo (dad is Metromedia Fiber Optic), pregnant at the moment.

Is Charlotte representing Monaco in the Olympics?

Is Charlotte representing Monaco in the Olympics?

Charlotte does not compete at the same level as Olympic equestrians so the only way she will be there is if she is in the stands watching.
