I think many of us (though I am not one of them) think that Charlotte is so beautiful that we see her as a work of art. She embodies "la jeune fille", a concept really invented in the 19th century with portraits of young aristocratic ladies and immortalized with Proust's pictorial descriptions of perfect types of young girls in "A l'ombre des jeunes filles en fleurs". Her squinting is an affront to the idealized picture we have of her, it restores her humanity when she has so few rivals to reach her level of perfection. Whether she squints as a way of pinching us back to reality ("hey guys, I'm real, I'm not some frozen piece of sculpture or painting"), because she forgets to wear her sunglasses, or for whatever other reason, she shows she is a thorn as well as a rose.
 
Charlotte is a beautiful young woman.

I have a friend that looks so much like Charlotte it is a little scary! hehe
I always envy her beauty. This friend is more aware than anyone else that she is not perfect. I think Charlotte does also. I dont think they look in the mirror and see the beauty we see or atleast think of themselves as that beautiful. They squint (yes the friend squints just as Charlotte does) and dont care. They dont realize or think maybe this makes me less pretty or something. I dont think they realize their beauty all the time. They dont think about it.

A lot of great pictures. I know we'll get flack, but in the bikini shots, she obviously has lost a lot of weight (concerned that her breats bone and plate are showing); but, while thin, she doesn't look as emaciated as some top supermodels.....
 
I think that was one of PC's old dresses from the 70's or 80's.
 
Love Charlotte, truly I do, but she rarely looks good at formal events. She's just not an elegant "dresser" (if that's a word) to me, unless she is wearing something non-Lagerfield related that is. She did look great at Andrea's charity, but for the most part, she looks miles better when she's dressed casually. She's a very chic casual dresser.
 
I think she turns her glamour on and off at will. Usually prefers to downplay.
 
They look vaguely familiary, Khalidi (the 2nd one may be from the recent Vogue shoot); the first one, not sure.
 
I think those are from Hola magazine, not sure.
