Guys let's stop with this mania of saying that someone said something if she didn't. It's just not fair.
It's not fair. People accuse her of being a communist only because she happens to be left wing in her views. It's the same with Obama. Because he is a Lefty, people on the far right equate that with socialism. It's just an exaggeration of the reality. Socialism is a TYPE of lefty politics, and it is Far Left anyway, like Far Right (extremists) but it doesn't define all Lefties.
It's just over-simplifying people and name calling. It divides people further.
I think Beatrice is like many people. She has leftist ideology but she is not an extremist. She's just a person who takes the side of compassionate Left rather than the hard Right.

OK, I know this post is way too political. I'm just trying to defend Beatrice from the unfairness of these posts accusing her of being what I believe she is not. I like Beatrice a lot, but I guess it's easy for me to like her because I happen to share her views.

CasiraghiTrio, i don't believe yours its a political post.

It's a matter of justice and truth: people like Toska are saying outrageous things in this tread, like that Bea's uncle had connection with Camorra.

I think the administrator of the site should do something about it, no one in the press ever talked about anything like that! and her uncle was Ceo of Valentino for just two years. It shouldn't be allowed to lie with such terrible topics. Critics are good but not lies like those i've heard here.

BTW if you are communist you don't have to live in a communist country
and.....China and North Korea? c'mon!!! have you ever study what communism is?

I don´t know if i started all this confussion about comunism. I didn´t mean she said she is, but people, due to her political opinions. When you criticize a right-wing government like Berlusconi´s, they rush to say you are comunist. There is a big difference, with socialism. Spain has a socialist government, Sweden had. They do not take you off your properties, but are more concerned about the less favoured, with more government intervention. She may have some socialist ideas, but I don´t think she´s socialist at all.
And of course Cuba is not a ghetto where all comunists go to live, please!

Still, I remember someone on the forum stating - quite some time ago - that Beatrice had described herself as a communist. It would be nice to have it straightened out and bring to light exactly what Beatice did or did not say about herself.

1. It is my understanding that Beatrice said in an interview that she is a communist. Maybe that was some time ago and now she is not.
2. What I said about Cuba, China N. Korea was a J-O-K-E!!! Get over it people!
3. Beatrice is a public figure on tv in the mags etc. And I believe I have a right to express my opinion about public figures without being attacked on this site.
4. I never blamed any one about their family facts or whatever, and to ask a Russian if they have ever studied what communism is is Extremely insulting.

Maybe, if she did indeed say that, she meant communist in the proper sense, rather than the common perception of Communists a la Leninist or Stalinist version. Because the fact is, Lenin rewrote the ideology. And STalin made his own rules. And all the others after them added their own bits. And now the common idea of "communism" bears no resemblance to Marx/Engels' intent. Like pdc said, China & North Korea regimes have nothing to do with the Marxist theory. Most people who say they are Communists mean they are purists in the Marx/Engels ideal. IDK too many people who want to be associated with the fake ways.

As I am Russian,I could stay that Communism it's horrible,I could only say that Beatrice didn't fully understood or studied the matter,as it never occured in the life of her ancestors or relatives,so she simply doesn't know all the cruel truth about it

In Italy, when someone says he/she votes for the Left, it doesn't absolutly imply the communism wich, actually, it's not even anymore in the Parliament.
Bea always said that she is center-left orientated, and I beard Vanya or anyone else to prove otherwise.
In this interview (Intervista a Beatrice Borromeo. Bella, colta e un po' prepotente - LeiWeb) you can see that she would vote for Obama if she could. How is that communism ? She's a democrat:

We would love to hear about the magazine, julliette.

I am thinking of a video that was on youtube. It was some press coverage from the GCT Rio. Some reporter was talking in Portuguese to Andrea Dellal. I'd love to hear from someone who knows the language. To me, it seemed like they were talking about Charlotte. The camera kept moving over to film Charlotte while Andrea talked to the reporter. Actually, it seemed like the reporter was trying to ask about Charlotte's relationship with Alex, and like Andrea was trying to say something nice, but non-committal. Andrea seemed embarrassed, but at the same time, amused, tickled I guess. She seemed to want to run away, actually. I think she was uncomfortable because the reporter was pressing her and she was afraid to say too much, too little, or just something wrong.
I would love the opinion of people who understand the language.

This is the video below. The part I refer to is toward the end of the video, at about 7:10.

CT, I can grasp a little of Portuguese, but I don´t think they mention Alex at all. She says it was a well organized event, it didn´t rain forunately like it did last year. When asked about Charlotte, If she supported her in competitions, she cannot see her everywhere but here she supported her. Then they refer to this competition, because Andrea answers something like, the first jump was all right, in the second the horse didn´t want to junp. Of course a portuguese speaker my answer better.

You're right rosana, they don't mention Alex at all. the translation should be something like:

Andrea: I found the event to be very well organised and I'm happy it didn't rain because last year they had really bad luck (the organisation of the event she means)
journalist: And about the sport. Do you understand (the rules)?Have you learned when it's fault, etc?
A: A little bit. Each time I learn a bit more.
J: Do you follow Charlotte's competitions? Closely?
A: Not closely. It's impossible to watch everything because she's going everywhere/all over the world. But here, I always come to support her.
J: And do you feel nervous?
A: Yeah, a little bit. I'm afraid she falls because it happens, you know. It's part of the competition, it can happen. In the first jump she was all right, in the second, the horse didn't want to jump but it's part of the sport.
J: What is the first thing you do when you arrive in Brasil? Something you really miss?
A: yes, my tapioca (typical food from Brazil). You know that one with bijou? I make my own. No one knows how to do it as I like. I love it.
J: (she says something about her famous appartment that i cannot listen very well but i think she refers Andrea receives a a lot of people there and then she asks: Do you make any specific food there to everyone to enjoy?
A: I have a cook/maid that works with me for many, many years, Dona Maria. She makes the brazilian food, that we all love. It's delicious.

I hope you understand everything.

I notice that Andrea speaks a great portuguese (which is normal since she is brazilian) but sometimes she has problems to find the exact word in portuguese. Like if english comes more natural to her. For example, when she says she comes to support Charlotte, she says «support her» in english and also when she's talking about falling being part of the sport, she says «part of the sport» in english as well. It tends to happen more at the end of the sentence when she's concluding her discourse but also with more specific words: I notice at the end when she's refering to the woman who works for her, she says: Eu tenho uma m...cozinheira. I thing she was to say maid and then realizes the word in portuguese in cozinheira.

About the magazine, sorry I was a bit selfish. Rerehh send a PM with this link: http://www.youkioske.com/revistas-fe...7-octubre-2010
Here you can read the magazine in a digital version. Just click where it says: Pulse para ver la publicación. you can zoom to read it. it's spanish but if anyone is interested I can try to translated (or some spanish speaker may do it better).

Thank you, ladies! It really seemed like she said something about Charlotte. I couldn't tell what. I thought maybe the journalist was impertinent.

It's interesting to see that Andrea stumbles a little with her Portuguese vocabulary. Being a native of Brazil, it would seem that she would have a natural grasp of the whole language. But I suppose all of her time in many other countries (I think the Dellals lived in South Africa for a time, then of course London) I guess she lost a little. English must have become so much easier for her from daily practice. Very surprising, but interesting.

She worries about Charlotte like a mother! How sweet.

Thank you for the digital magazine. I can muddle along a bit with reading most of the romance languages. french and spanish are a bit easier for me than the others. It's speaking and listening comprehension where I am hopeless. :(

Is it me, or is it almost weird to see her and Tatiana hanging out again?! I hope that's a good sign for their (once close) friendship, as well as her relationship with Andrea (if a romantic one still exists; if not, maybe just good friends).
