Who is Olly Hicks, is he a relation to India Hicks? And thus the Mountbatten family?

I don't think Olly (his real name is Oliver, although no one uses it) is related to David Nightingale Hicks, unless very distantly, so no, he's not related to India, Edwina or Ashley Hicks and their children.
He does have an old aristocratic (gentry) background, although no famous ancestors.

Olly has broken quite a few rowing records; he was the first person to row solo from America to England and the youngest-ever person to row solo an ocean.

I remember when his 'Flying Carrot' arrived back (after he set the America to England record-breaking solo sail), he was greeted by the Bransons and Prince William.
William and Olly have been friends since they were teenagers, for 8-9 years at least.

No, he doesn't belong to the Hicks/Mountbatten-Clan. As far as I know, he's a rower.

Rexfeatures has some new pictures of Kate Middleton from yesterday:

I happen to think that Kate's hair looks refreshingly nice on her. She should put it up more often. But *sigh* about those old boots...

Yes, Olly hicks is a good friend of William and has been sponsored by Virgin for his expeditions. I think his latest one this year ended prematurely though... while rowing across Antarctica.

On a side note, Jecca Craig was also there.

I think Kate looks fine. When you're young and attractive and are built like that you can get away with a lot. IMO she should enjoy being in control of her wardrobe while she can.

I have removed an off topic argument about Princess Michael as well as some out of line personal comments.

I have also removed the ones regarding Chelsy's short student internship. Harry and Chelsy have their own threads.

PRINCE WILLIAM is taking girlfriend Kate Middleton to Balmoral to meet the Queen, fuelling speculation they may soon marry.

It is the first time she has been invited to the Queen's traditional break at the Highland retreat

So she's agreed to go? I remember she was invited to sandringham for christmas 2 years and she boldly turned it down. If she meets the queen I don't think it's a sign that marraige is on the horizon, just that she meets the queen again.

It's doubtful that she was ever actually invited to Sandringham for Christmas day. Only spouses and fiances are invited to the family gathering.

Shooting starts on the Glorious 12th (12th August).

It really depends what you are intending to shoot, the most famous season (Grouse, Ptarmigan) is the 12th August to 10th Dec, Black Grouse 12th Aug to 10th Dec, Snipe 12th Aug - 31 Jan, Partridge Sep to Feb, Pheasant Oct to Feb.

Deer have different 'seasons', Stags tend to be shot in August but again that varies between the species.

The headline says "Hunting for the crown". The article says that Kate Middleton has been invited for the pheasant hunting to Balmoral by the Queen. But Kate and William are accommodate in separate bedrooms.

Default Kate & Paparazzi

An incredible (and should I say distressing) video of how Kate stood her ground when the paps harassed her back in Oct 2007 while walking home with Pippa after a night at Raffles.... Once again, we hear her voice!

A note about Chelsy Davy:
Chelsy Davy is only relevant to the British Forums when it concerns Prince Harry.
Any news reports or stories about her activities that don't involve Prince Harry should not be be posted here.
