When the press publish unflattering photos of a celebrity (royal or not) it is a sure sign that the person is out of Press favour. It is very hard to fall in a dignified way but the photo of her spread out on the ice was not a very nice shot to publish, but then they took that one of Princess Diana before she married with the "see through" dress although that wasn´t done in a nasty way.

Poor Catherine
DUMP HIM AND BE HAPPY .. this guy is just using you why wait for years for a proposal that may never come. I think William is a CAD .. not for not marrying her but for not telling her how it is. Dont' treat her mean to keep her keen. IF YOU TRULY LOVE HER let her go and marry someone more worthy of her .. ITS CLEARLY NOT YOU. SELFISH and self centred William. This Flying Stunt is just another BRUSH OFF TO HER. Apparently only telling her a few days before it was officially announced a 5-year stint in the Air Force. Nothing wrong with that but he should be decent and end it and if she is still around in 5 years fine if not give her a chance to fine someone more decent!

i agree that when the press start publishing unflattering photos, the subject is falling out of favour but i believe, in most cases, that it's because the public is tiring of the same old stuff and the press believes they need to spice things up a bit. i'm sure the media has been dying for something negative to print about catherine and if the only thing they can dig up is a picture of her falling down while skating then she's got nothing to worry about in terms of her public image.

I absolutely agree, Duchess. The Mail has been resorting to searching internet forums for photos of Kate's siblings to write stories ... you know they're just slobbering for Kate to do anything that could even be possibly construed as negative. One slip on roller skates, and bam -- just the thing they wanted!

They used to do the same with Princess Anne when she was eventing - she said that the press would be there just waiting for her to fall off her horse.

That is true, he broke off with her saying he was too young or some such thing, then it seemed that everywhere William went there she was with obvious press interest. The excuse was that she had the same friends but everytime he moved there she was, it may be a bit harsh but to me it was almost as though she was stalking him. It worked, after breaking off with her, she got him back. I hope it isn´t just prolonging the agony for her.

Where did William move that Kate followed him to? During the split she stayed in London the whole time where she had been living before and William was with the Blues and Royals in Windsor. I would also not be aware that they attended the same locations together.

One wedding various night clubs and parties, I don´t think she went into the regiment following him. There were photos of her at the same places for some time in the press as they were interested.

I never heard anything about them attending the same parties during their split. Which wedding did she go to? I only recall the army ball William invited her to in June but that was when they were already back together. She did go to Bouji etc. but never when William was there. I more had the impression that they deliberately avoided each other and their friends made sure they wouldn't meet.

It's always been a possibility to me that William could end it with Kate, and start something with a new girl and quickly marry her instead.

The children option seems strange, no one would expect them to be parents right away...and furthermore, if she's never been pregnant then no one even knows how difficult it could be for her. Not everyone can just have a baby when they want to, that seems to be happening more and more today...

Prince William attended Kate Middleton´s cousin´s wedding 21 July 2007 because he said he had promised to attend and didn´t want to let the cousin down. Admittedly that was not Kate stalking as it was her cousin´s wedding.

I still don't understand how Kate felt wearing short-shorts would help her be taken more seriously as a charity fund raiser and would show she was doing something. This is the second Charity she has done and it has somewhat backfired on her, the Charity Amazon Boat Race and now this recent skating one. If the Pr. William or Palace wants her to be taken seriously as a future Princess, I wonder why no help for her, because this one kind of turned out bad for her pr wise.

also..... I do recall she frequented their old nightclub haunts (when they broke up) Bijous,Mahiki, I can't recall the name of the clubs ,once with Jecca's ex boyfriend or someone previously close to Jecca, name Ropner, a Aristocratic guy, some press felt it was to get attention from William. She also went to a couple nightclubs where William's friend Guy Pelly was having events or something. William basically avoided the clubs at that point I think.

Yes, I think you are right, William avoided these clubs but she was there often...and she knew that his friends would tell him all about it.
Those short shorts were definitely too short for a girl hoping to be a Queen, she didn´t know she was going to photographed sprawled out like that but it wasn´t a very wise choice, but if I remember rightly she first attracted William´s attention when she modeled underwear at the University!

The Queen likes to know everything that is going on with her family and relies on information from the different people in her household as she can´t exactly go out and see herself. I don´t think the fact that Kate Middleton was invited to a wedding or went to Prince William´s passing-out at Sandhurst is a sign that she is accepted.
It would not be a good idea to believe everything one might read in books or the papers. Seward was not in 'close contact', she was the editor of a magazine. HM does like to be informed on her family, but I don't think she would ever interfere in the lives of any of them. Catherine would never have been invited to any of the events without HM's express permission.

Based in past experience with royal marriages e.g. CPs of Denmark and Spain, along with Diana, there was a lot of media speculation about how long it would take to get pregnant.

The first duty of a royal marriage is to have the next royal generation and the later they leave the marriage the more intense that pressure would be.

Anne was able to wait for 4 years due to being 4th in line at the time and being only 23 at marriage but other royal brides marrying later have been expected to have children within the first year or so. e.g. Mary in Denmark and Letizia in Spain - both older ladies but Kate is also getting older and if they wait until he finishes in the service she will also be in her early 30s.

If they married next year then they could wait a few years but the pressure will be on - at least until someone else in William's generation has a child.

Well as most people know after the age of 30, pregnancy becomes more of an obstacle...so who knows what will happen. It's a shame there is pressure, especially if neither one would actually want kids.

I think that is why there is this apparent delay in the wedding.

I think they will get married and have a family as soon as possible, after having done the pre-family time that most couples these days tend to enjoy before the wedding.

There has been no suggestion of which I am aware that says that neither Kate nor William don't want kids but just rather that they aren't ready yet and so delaying the wedding delays the kids until they are ready.

This sentence made my day, Skydragon! I'm not an I.S. fan at all.
