One source ...

I'm surprised that there are still 'sources' talking to the DM. If it was me, I would have certainly tried to find out who is this talkative.
I dont think there are any sources - I always thought they made it up.

Front page of the Daily Express tomorrow (content not yet available)

I'm starting to feel sorry for Cressida - this is very unfair and makes life really difficult. Every move is being preempted, anticipated and pawed over by the press. This is the worse it has ever been for a couple at this stage in a relationship. Horrible!

I also think William and Catherine are sitting in KP thanking heaven that in their early days they were secure within St Andrew's.

I think cressida needs to realize that the press attention/paparazzi aren't going to get any easier ever...she needs to figure out if she is willing to deal with that...hopefully for harry she will figure that out sooner rather than later.

I don't feel bad for her..she knew what she was getting into when she started dating him..he was a prince then and a prince now...so its going to reach the point soon I think where they are going to be in the if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen stage of their relationship.

I do feel that its a bid weird that she has been willing to do red carpets and pose with family this year and when it comes to something for her bf she doesn't want to come to a private event...its not like she is the focus of it george and will and kate are.

I would like to imagine that any time the story first breaks of a relationship all parties know exactly what is involved.

I don't think there is any way that Cressida doesn't know by this point what to expect, as was the situation with Catherine. The papers are going to go down the 'scared, nervous' etc. line because it's more of a dramatic headline than 'happy to be here'.

After a year, Cressida will know exactly what is involved, despite all previous stories, she will be well informed by Harry and staff. If she is the one, they will find a way for her to cope with the situations.

I can understand not wanting to meet his grandma (kate didn't officially meet her until about 6 yrs into the relationship w/ william)...but, not going because of press attention is a little dumb bc anytime she goes out with him its going to get alot of press attention.

I have felt for a while that the whole avoiding the press was going to backfire and still think that way.

I agree with you about the avoiding of the press backfiring. She knew who he was and the level of interest there would be in her.

As for meeting HM, this is a private event, so she's only meeting his grandmother. I know, a very special grandmother, but just a grandmother in these circumstances, nevertheless. And if the rumours of Harry wanting to fast-track his relationship rather than wait six or more years, it's time she did meet HM because she needs to get used to the company of the senior members of the RF and to realise what being a part of this family involves.

But of course this could just be a press beat-up.

We dont know that's how she feels - this is the paper's viewpoint. But people take it as true - that is what is horrible.

It still boils down to she has known who he is since before they dated..so all this is to be expected...i know she is 24 yrs old but she isn't the first girl to go through this and this isn't anything compared to what Chelsy and Kate went through..its kind of a right of passage (unfortunately)

We don't know if thats the way she feels but, a life in the public eye is what her life will be if she chooses to stay with him...which is what I was saying that this situation will never get easier..she'll be more protected but it the attention will never go away.

i think over the next couple of months its going to be interesting to see if she is actually enough into him to deal with it or not.

If she really has been invited this is a fairly good signal about the status of their relationship.

Regardless of whether Harry is or is not serious about her and whether she is meeting the Queen, I always thought it was she and her family who are playing the press by all these little tidbits about how besotted Harry is and how she's unsure (i.e., she has the upper hand).

JM - not so H - O of course.

Somehow I doubt any of this was true. There were TONS of the same rumors about Kate meeting the Queen and being invited to intimate family events for a long time before it actually happened.

It would be highly unusual- and a family christening in the middle of the afternoon isn't exactly an occasion where an escort is required, so it seems like a weird choice for introducing her to the family.

You have nothing to support that opinion. What on earth has taken you there?

I have quite a bit to support that opinion; every report I have read of Cressie in the DM, and other places. I have detailed it all before here- just go back a few pages. She is always painted in the light of being hesitant, of having the upper hand, while poor Harry is besotted, absolutely besotted, and is trying to rush her. This is a common theme of all of the tabloid articles.

Interesting, I would never form an opinion based on the DM which is a rag and likes to create negative impressions, and isnt known for its accuracy.

We will never know.

It is all so one sided, everything I read, so PRO-CRESSIE, so entirely pro-Cressie, that this is the opinion that I have formed. It's not only DM, although I grant you it is all tabloidy. No matter how serious the relationship is, someone pro Cressie is painting Cressie as some sort of modern day romantic novel heroine, and I believe it's at the expense of Harry.

We might know one day. These things tend to come out in time.

Giraffe, I agree with what you're saying about it all being pro-Cressida and the possibility of at least some of it coming from the Cressida camp. I do disagree, however, that it's being done in a way that makes her look good at his expense.

To me a lot of the stories seem to read more as either Harry's ready for marriage but she's not sure - which is just an expansion of the pre-Cressida line of Harry's ready for marriage but hasn't found the one, which has been pushed at least since William got married - or they're both talking marriage and Cressida has done so much to make him into a man who's ready to settle down - which can be seen as him escaping the image of being the Party Prince. I don't think either necessarily paints him in a negative light so much as it takes images of him that we had pre-Cressida and expands it. Even when the Harry's ready for marriage but Cressie isn't sure because of his reputation type stories are out there it isn't really anti-Harry so much as it's saying "the Party Prince is ready for marriage, but his 24 year old girlfriend isn't sure if he's/they're/she's really able to make that commitment yet."

I totally agree with this. Remember all the stories about Carole Middleton's supposed faux pas when meeting the Queen during William's passing out parade. It was totally made up. Carole didn't meet the Queen until weeks before the royal wedding. Not to mention numerous Kate invites to Christmas that were not real.

Not to mention a christening isn't really a plus one type of event. I also find it ridiculous that newspapers take a story from one paper and just recycle it in their own. Lazy journalism.

Harry and Cressida should just start casually strolling around holding hands. The press would get tired in a hurry, if it seems mundane.

I don't think the media will get bored with them. Harry is the single sexy playboy prince and until he settles down and gets boring. He is going to attract attention. William and Kate were the boring couple but the media still had when were they getting married, then the wedding and then baby watch and now with George here - they are back to boring, settled down happy family. That puts the media's focus on Harry and whoever Harry is with for the juicy stories.

No way. That would be true for almost anyone else, but in this case, any relationship he has will only be followed more obsessively if it looks serious.
