It's TMZ, of course they violated some law. I wouldn't be surprised if they had some hand in the pics being taken.

If Harry had a serious drink problem (or any other pilot for that matter) he could not be capable of flying Apachre helicopters and coming out top of class. When he was in the US training, and when he is on duty in the UK, he does not drink - he's not allowed to.

He is in for a tough time when he reports back to base because the Army will take a dim view. And I think his father will have something to say as well.

As I've said already, he is foolish but not bad, and this will soon be forgiven when he goes to Afghanistan and forgotten in the wave of William and Catherine on tour. Most people in the UK won't bat an eyelid because he is young, very fit (as in physically, rather than slang for attractive), army, and on R&R. I'd say that the majority of single military get blasted when on R&R only they are lucky enough not to be prince and there is no money to be made.

This is a quote from The Times re his protection officers:

Prince Harry is accompanied by taxpayer-funded protection officers wherever he goes, but the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Bernard Hogan-Howe, said they are there to provide security rather than act as a moral compass.
Questioned during a monthly meeting, he said: “Royal protection offcers are there to protect him for security reasons, they are not there to regulate his life. When more details come out we will have a look but it is not an issue for the Met.”

We all have made a lot of assumptions here and the "more details" line made me wonder whether drinks had been spiked. Probably not, but it's a thought and we've all had lots of those.

It's a hard lesson but sadly he just cannot trust anyone. That's a lonely place.

His behaviour may not suit some of your individual moral codes but he doesn't have to. Just needs to work out his own.

No, I was not being sarcastic and was actually trying to agree with you except for the opinion on Hellqvist-who I do indeed associate with porn.

But whatever...never mind.

"P.S. The 'word on the street' is that both William and Harry drink to excess. Harry is the one who is 'nicer' when drunk - so I am told. "

And what street would that be? One in England? One on which William and Harry have actually walked?

Excellent question !!!!!

There have been suggestions that TMZ did in fact violate the law by publishing the pictures. A hotel room is one of those places where you have an expectation of privacy.

Actually I don't think it was an invasion of privacy as I'm sure no one was in that suite without an invitation from Harry. I think too that if there was any kind of legal issues that may affect the publishing/showing of these pictures, CNN would not have had them on the news. Wonder how bad Harry's hangover was?

I don't think it's a horribly shocking thing that Harry has done, although I also don't agree with the idea that the sort of behaviour he engaged in is the norm for people in their late 20s/early 30s, (even on vacation in Vegas). But even if it is, Harry's not in a normal situation. He can't have the same expectation of privacy most of us do when we act like idiots.

IMO, he needs to grow up a bit.

I doubt these pics will have a place in his obituary one day, so why discuss them now?

What he needs to do also is lose the trusting and happy-go-lucky part of his nature that I have always found so personally appealing and become more suspicious like his big brother.

I will be very sad to see it happen, however.

The PPOs are the same is my understanding - to stop him being attacked but not to stop him making a fool of himself nor do they have the power to confiscate cameras/phones etc from the people he mixes with - besides which that would be illegal I imagine in the US - effectively stealing someone else's property.

I was genuinely confused as to whether you were being sarcastic with the comment 'thanks for stating the obvious'. It was a question. :)

Off topic but, Sofia is associated with that subject but she is not herself a star.

I wonder if William is labeled as the 'good' prince because he tends to be more careful and discreet. I'm sure he had his share of 'wild' fun in university, but was intelligent enough to make sure no one caught it on camera. What Harry did is certainly not smart, and the only thing he's hurting with the latest stunt is the image of his Family (and himself). I certainly hope that he'll use better judgement in the future. In my eyes, this kind of behavior is not acceptable from anyone; royal or not.

For some reason this little incident seems more disturbing to people outside of the UK than it does to people in the UK.

And let´s nt forget who pays for this trips.

We pay for the security. Not the trip, facts again. If the people who do pay, don't mind, then why should you?
The issue of tax always seem to invite argument into a conversation when the actual person paying the 58p a year doesn't care. Amazes me actually.

well said - also agree with NGalitzine that its people outside the UK who are more disturbed by this.

why are we running 2 threads on the same subject?

No laws violated. Freedom of the press. In fact, if you take a pic here in the US and use Instagram to upload it to your Facebook account, you give away the copy-write to Instagram. Isn't that a hoot?

For those who think this will blow over.... Soon, TMZ, The Enquirer, ET or one other of the entertainment media in the US will find one of these ladies or gents who saw the strip billiards. They will pay the witness enough to spill all. The witness will become an overnight wonder and get offered reality TV opportunities. That will become round two.

Then the rest of the crowd, hearing one of their party made a bucket of money will come crawling out to tell their versions, make money and garner some of the spotlight. Round three.

One or more of the party will have some kind of criminal record - and/or more naked romping on facebook/twitter. Round four.

By then, Harry will probably be headed back for active duty. And won't we all feel ashamed of our rough judgement when he is put in harm's way - because that is what he is headed to overseas. I hope we do think twice before then.

Seems to be of much more interest in the US than the UK.

True, but it still TMZ. I'm sure I can scrunch up some law they violated. They are some sick mofos.

I agree that all or some of your 1,2,3,4 will probably happen.

Anyhoo I still think Harry was pretty dam stupid and he is the one that should of have some 'judgement' is this whole hullabaloo. I'm still SMDH

I wouldn't say that. It's all over every British paper, and news organization. But, yeah, it's quite a kerffuffle about not very much.

Back in my youth it was strip poker not billards. Same results. Things haven't changed in the last 60 years.

Are you sure people don´t care? Ask a homeless, ask one that doesn´t have health inssurance. I bet they care. And you suggest Harry paid for his trip and the drinks he probably invited this girls? With what money? Fact is you can´t be sure either.

Wow....just wow. I only bolded part of you wrote, but that was enlightening--and not in a good way.

I wouldn't consider that the norm in the U.S.

Depends upon where you live. Until recently, I lived in New Orleans and had for most of my life. It's completely the norm there.

Also, honestly? It's very, very fun. Not something anyone should get up to long term, or every weekend, but the occasional weekend of total debauchery with friends can be not only fun and memorable, but totally harmless.

how do we know he was drink ? because he went to a bar. i feel like bad judgement he shouldnt have had them girls up there, which i m sure he did before at one point in this didnt happen, but its not the end of the world. he is not married with kids so its a lesson learned

The palace is trying to ban the photos.

A St James’s Palace spokesman confirmed that it had contacted the Press Complaints Commission about the images, which were published on a US celebrity website and widely circulated online.

The two pictures, taken on a mobile phone in a hotel suite, were taken by a fellow reveller, and sold for an estimated £10,000.

and its sad because there still are more photos out there and can turn up at anytime. but were were his friends ? at this point it would had been good to have one to stop it from happening instead of living in the moment

DM has an article up where it lists all the places "naked Harry" pics are - I came across them accidentally on Huff Po. So it's too late to ban them, really. I read that the girls in the pictures worked for TMZ - don't know if it's true or not but he should be more careful.

I can't get that worked up about them -they seemed like normal guy stuff to me.

Dont get what you are saying - what's this about health insurance? You are making comments when you really don't understand the UK. We have a National Health Service which is available to UK citizens. And actually, they probably dont care - the responses in the UK press are that he is an off-duty soldier on R&R and good luck to him; shame about his so called friends.

Not judgemental - which is healthy.

And the more judgemental this gets, the more he has my support. So many self-righteous comments on here, as if no one has ever made a mistake.

personally, I've known plenty of people in their 20's, 30's and 40's who are either in the military and/or police force that have done things like this on leave/days off. literally they get s*&t faced and do tons of stupid stuff. and this is where they live! God forbid they go to Vegas. I don't think it has anything to do with maturing, but has a lot to do with blowing off steam/stress. When people drink, they let their inhabitions (sp?) down. I see nothing wrong with what he did. I would rather see him cavorting around naked, than find out he had a 1 night stand with some strang girl who later says she is pregnant! I'm sure his father and his uncle and his past realtives have done more to incure that rath of the Queen.
I just feel sorry for the guy that he let his gaurd down for awhile and got snapped in a silly situation. No matter what he does, he is gonna get caught and he is stupid if he does not realize that by now. They all pay the price the next morning regardless of who or what you are!!
