That's inexcusable on a tour like this. Doesn't Meghan have a dresser or stylist with her, who looks the clothing over before she puts it on? Really bad, and sad. Huge entourage and that happens! Shakes head...

I think plastic was left on the bottom of a new bag in Ireland.

She has a personal assistant. But I don't think her role is limited to her clothing. They actually have a rather small entourage for a tour. I remember that being discussed on OnHeir.

Well then the PA and Meghan herself are going to have to be very careful from now on and make sure there are no labels or coverings left on any items of clothing or accessories, even if it means looking over absolutely everything with a fine tooth comb before it's worn or carried.

Some things can be excused because Meghan is so new and inexperienced. However, this is not a good look in any sense especially when the Fail and other tabloids get hold of it and people start to make fun. And they will, online.

In the end Harry and Meghan are there representing the Queen. Any faux pas, lack of polish, errors, wardrobe malfunctions etc etc on Royal tours reflect badly on her.

Their entourage is 10.

Charles and Camilla came to Australia with 13.

William and Kate had 8 or 9 when they came and that included a nanny for Prince George.

Well, then the Cambridge team has grown. It was 15 when they went to Scandinavia. And George didn't go. Regardless, with so many engagement for such a long tour, they need some flexibility. If there is one thing I would say they need to change is to give things more room. The schedule is so tight and the staff does seem spread thin. I get they are trying to run an efficient team, but an extra pair of eyes and hands or two would help a lot. Even the royal reporters were all exhausted by day 4.

Oddly that label is only visible in the two photos from Rebecca English, and not in any of the other photos from others.

Ok, it’s not quite THAT big of a deal. Worse things have happened when people represent the Queen. It’s a tag. It’s a human error. Be careful going forward and move on. And honestly, if we go with the Fail, if it’s not this, it’ll be something else. They have to past the time being negative somehow.

That’s not true. I’ve seen it elsewhere too. I’m all for taking them to task when they are just blatantly biased or wrong, but this isn’t the case.

You're right, Jacqui. I got a bit irate though because they are going straight to be received by the King and Queen of Tonga, and anything hanging there will be on any official photos taken for ever. I put it more on Meghan's staff to be on the ball about these things. And Meghan does look lovely!

I hope we get some photos from this afternoon and the dinner tonight.

Maybe just no one else had chosen to point it out (yet?). When I posted I hadn't seen any other photos with it showing, from the many sources I follow. I am glad it wasn't fabricated because as much as I dislike some reporters, I don't want to think they'd stoop *that* far!

Well, hopefully their social media coordinator is checking Twitter and pulls her aside and rips it off.

And hopefully it’ll be taken at a good angle far enough away. I noticed it’s only visible through some angles.

ETA: Happy to report that she’s changed into a white dress to meet the king and Queen. So Tag Gate will not be recorded in history.

We're really making a big deal about a tag on a dress? :ermm: Much worse has happened on tours and no scandal came of it. It's a minor error and doesn't take away from how great Meghan looks in that dress or how great of a job she has done on this tour so far.

Instead of playing the blame game and deciding which subject should be "off with their head" what about the fact that Meghan is a grown woman and looks at her clothes, pulls them over her or steps into them. She can act independently and determine, there is a tag, I will remove it. Surely all her free will has not disappeared and her dependence on staff has blinded her to these details?

A lapel.

Wonderful.
There has to be a minor goof on every royal trip. A hat flying. Tripping over something. A hole in a sock. - Otherwise we can't tell them apart. ;)
Look at it as part of the royal road show. ?

I’m just glad she hasn’t busted a seam yet, but it looks like that’s a real danger at this point.

Folks, tags are very easy to miss. You don’t always catch them. Everyone has run into this very minor problem. Meghan is no different.

For me this looks like two tags, one that has been manually added to identify when the dress is to be worn and then another in the inside label of the dress which perhaps is in a very odd place. Either way both should have been removed, it's rather lazy not to check oneself over.

A wonderful close-up of Meghan in the white evening dress -

Sun Lion,

I seem to recall a similar thing happened on their tour of Ireland. From memory a tag was left on something as they arrived at Dublin Airport

I didn't see that Axeyman.

But this makes me wonder if Meghan just borrowed the dress for the Tonga Airport arrival.

A close-up of the same label - on another garment - saying it must remain attached if the item is to be returned.

tag must be attached to return item is something standard written on most tags for most clothing. It was a careless mistake I doubt they plan to return the dress.

Meghan has worn Self Portrait a number of times, even before meeting Harry. It seems to be favorite for her. I highly doubt there were plans to return it. Given the circumstances, it's much more likely that the tag was simply missed.

I think it was a JCrew coat. She had forgotten to remove the tailor's tack stitch in the back which is there when you buy a new item.

There is a forest visit on today's itinerary for both of them. I wonder if she'll sit that one out?

Channel 7 is at the handicraft display that has been set up for the couple to see jacqui24, and are expecting Harry and Meghan there after meeting the Prime Minister and his Cabinet.

After going to the Convention Centre for the handicrafts, they'll be visiting the oldest secondary school in the South Pacific.

The Tongan "red carpet" - awaiting the couple.

Looking forward to another great day for this tour.

Agree Axeyman. At least they will gain a few hours coming back to Sydney with the time difference.

Eddie Bartholomew has shown us the mat - made of mulberry bark - that will be gifted to the couple when they are at the handicraft display.

This should be a good event - looks very controlled regarding crowds.

The ladies doing a weaving display are singing and clapping as they weave.

Long sleeved striped dress for Meghan today - love the shape. Another winner outfit. (By Martin Grant.)

They've arrived to see the Prime Minister.

Some photos -

Meghan's bump seems to be growing each time we see a new photo of her! She and Harry have both been looking nothing but delighted whilst visiting members of the public on this tour.
Meghan also did incredibly well during her first speech - she's very natural and confident when she speaks.

The designer of last night's white dress had only two days to rush it to Meghan after a request came through at the end of September.

And guessed about the pregnancy, when it was requested to have extra seam allowance.

A sketch of the dress -

And the designer and the dress -

Harry and Meghan off to the school now - handicraft exhibit done and dusted.

Sometimes the waiting around really can be too much - (at the Prime Minister's visit.)

Sounds like it's going to be quite a busy day. They also have the Australian Geographical Society awards in Sydney tonight.

Formal dinner at the Shangri La Hotel, near the Harbour, tonight for that.

Meghan on the carpet - green/khaki stipes on the dress to match the shoes.
