I am very curious how this relationship will continue when Joachim and Marie are married. I have to say that I don't find them well matched at all (on the other hand I did not think that Joachim and Alex were a well matched couple either) and somehow I can't imagine that they share common interests etc that are so important for a successful life together. Don't get me wrong, I don't have the intention to bash Marie but when I think of this other thread "Would she have married him" my first intuition tells me no way. I know that the couple are only at the beginning of their public life and we'll get a much better idea of who Marie actually is and the way she presents herself in public in the next months but this is what comes to my mind when I look at them today. I hope I am wrong.

Duke, I'm not quite understanding where you're coming from. Why don't you think they're well matched? It seems like you were saying that they were too different from each other. I agree that they are different, but I think that it's this difference that makes and will continue to make things different for them. Of course, I could be wrong. They could be horribly matched. I thought Joachim and Alexandra were a great match, but that turned out to be a mistake.

It's just the impression I get when I look at them, she is young, lively, outgoing, looks like she wants to have some fun and experience things whilst Joachim is quite settled, living on his estate in Shackenborg where the days can get lonesome and boring and I am not sure Marie will enjoy that in the long term, in contrast to him. There was no offense meant, I could be wrong. I found Alex was always the stronger part in the relationship, very (probably too) mature, focused and committed in a positive sense; a shame it did not work out.
Will be interesting to see how things develop

According to Billed Bladet Prince Joachim will be spending this holiday season at Marselisborg along with Marie; however, Prince Felix and Prince Nikolai will not be there; they will be spending Christmas with their mother, Countess Alexandra and Martin.

No is a particular royal. My personal opinion is for new royals. I want to point out that is only my personal view. Iam foreigner.

what a lovely card! seems the boys are getting & accepting Marie. I also like how they included her puppy. Sorry dont remember the boys name but I like how he has his arm around Marie, very sweet...

Lvely card, but Apple (Marie's doggie) is missing. Perhaps Apple stayed home in France or Geneva.
Wonder who Marie's wedding attendants will be ???

I love the Christmas card. Marie is holding Nikolai's hand, and Felix has his arm around her. How sweet. She's also wearing boots very similar to her about to be sister-in-law Mary, that she wore in the photoshoot.

It is a lovely card. Looking at the card, I can't help noting that Prince Joachim and Marie tend to bear some resemblance.

That's Prince Felix and the dog in the Christmas card must belong to Prince Joachim. Marie's dog Apple is all white.

Actually, that's the new dog, Winston that Marie and Joachim adopted. So it's the family dog.

Oh no! Is it not enough that people claim that Joachim wants to marry his sister-in-law's look-alike? Is this the new claim: Joachim wants to marry his own look-alike?

I have stated my observations based on the card in question. I have not put forward any new theories about the type of person Prince Joachim is going to marry.
