Fashion Marie

This past weekend Prince Joachim's love, Marie Cavallier, attended a fashion show whilst in Copenhagen. Apparently she attended one of Malene Birger's shows in which Se og Hor noted that she "...has lots of energy to that sack together with the models." The author mentions Mary and Alexandra briefly, but nothing worth translating.

Ekstra Bladet is also reporting about Marie attending the show on Friday, in which they note that she is a beautiful princess in training, "...Marie Cavallier that is to say gone actively going by princess - the preparations..."

Yep, they're getting engaged. Isn't this the same type of thing Mary did right before an engagement was announced? Marie looks GREAT in the new photos. Very poised.

It's hard to not see the parallels between the two women. Perhaps Joachim is courting her "Fred style" after seeing what a successful relationship they had.

You mean attending the Malene Birger fashion show in 2003 prior to the October 2003 announcement? Yup, pretty much.

Marie does look beautiful in those shots. I look forward to seeing more of her in the future.

This current fashion show was attended by Mary - Alexandra -Marie. Did any of the three attend on the same day, and if so did they acknowledge each other ?

I guess we're not the only ones to think so. Right after I wrote that comment I saw the article with the pic of Mary at the 2003 show.

The question is, will she move to Denmark first (a la Mary) or will an engagement be announced and then a move?

She looks very nice, although she could've done without the clunky necklace.

The three women attended different fashion shows (Mary - Baum und Pferdgarten, Alexandra - Pureheart, Marie - Malene Birger), but all part of the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair. I'm pretty sure they were all on different days too.

Ok, I had a ton of free time, so I decided to do some digging. I looked in the first Frederik and Mary Donaldson thread from 2002. BTW, if you look, it's amazing how different TRF's were back then, a little bit more informal, less structure. But anyway, I noticed a ton of similarities between the type of things that Frederik and Mary were doing then, and the extreme talk of engagement, and what Joachim and Marie were doing now. You could basically just switch the names and have about the same articles. They were going to weddings and baptisms, and Mary was accomponying Frederik to different sporting events, etc. That's essentially what Marie is doing a lot of now. And if you look at the pictures, Marie and Mary dressed a lot similarly, less polished. And then, what do you know, a short time later an engagement was announced, then the marriage happened, then Prince Christian happened, then Princess Isabella happened... and I think we'll get a lot of the similar stuff about Joachim and Marie.

Billed Bladet is reporting this week that Marie has been shuttling back and forth between Geneva and Copenhagen for the past few weekends. If Marie and Joachim were to marry, hypothetically speaking would she have to quit working? Other Royals I believe have attempted to carry on with their careers.

Yes, she would.

She would hence forth execute the responsibilities and duties of a Princess of Denmark. Just as Alexandra did and just as Mary does.

Then she'll fit right in with the family! I've seen pics of Joachim smoking and Margrethe is a well known smoker. I think only Mary doesn't smoke.

Yeah, you are quite right! Crown Princess Mary doesn't smoke and I am quite sure also that Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Henrik have quitted smoking now!

danish royal watchers also found a link to a video from her & nu of marie attending a fashion show with a friend. i found it quite interesting to see: she seems to be a lively, confident person.
