Ah, so they were in Montreal! I hope they had a good time. I imagine that even with the pap following them they still were able to live like "normal" people for the most part.

Joachim and Marie will never be able to live like 'normal' people, because they're not.

Let's just hope, however, that Princess Marie and her new husband will be afforded sufficient time to settle in, find their own milieu, and contribute to the state as best suits them and all of Denmark.

I'm comfortable, too, with Princess Marie's taking her time to consider any patronages; Princess Mary did, as well.

it's interesting to find out which place they chose for their honeymoon. i was expecting something more exotic maybe (perhaps to avoid paparazzi), as frderik and mary, but montreal is such a nice place...

I love Montreal. Not that I don't love Vancouver, which was mentioned upthread as one of their honeymoon destinations, but Montreal feels more honeymoon-y to me than Vancouver (which I do love though, by the way). Marie probably felt comfortable there, language-wise, anyway.

There's no real news, JoP. It says something along the line:


Their plane was delayed so that they had to rush through the airport to reach their connecting flight to Denmark. Along the way they ran into two "unexpected guests" along the on way.

SE and HØRs asked thier two week long trip in the wilderness and the city.

"We have had a wonderful holiday. Very nice" said Prince Joachim. "We decided to travel to Canada together for our honeymoon and it was the first time in the country for both of us" said Joachim. He said it was a peaceful holiday, and the peacefulness was also part of the reason why the decided on Canada. They didn't think they would be disturbed by Danish tourists there [or something like that] and that is another reason they decided on Canada, "Yes, it had something to do with it" said Prince Joachim with a smile.

Afraid of Marie
Joachim preferred to speak up [to talk over Marie] perhaps because he still fears that the outspoken princess may be a little too chatty to the press.

Thankfully the couple reached their flight to Copenhagen, despite the delay, but only after the infamous chaos at Newark airport [if you've ever been there than you know that airport is the pits]

My quess is, that it won't be. Prince Joachim's annuity has just been raised and I doubt very much, that parliament will be willing to raise it again any time soon - children or not.
