According to a media report the 2 boys had gone away on holiday with their mother and her boyfriend. The family obviously is going to alternate years as last year both boys were with Joachim celebrating his mother's birthday. ( Joachim was also not around and it was assumed he was away on holiday with his girlfriend.)

Considering that Joachim gave a recent interview to Billed Bladet where he said he was still together with Marie... it doesn't seem likely. It might happen, and it might not. I think the thing to remember is that even when the divorce was announced, Joachim and Alexandra still acted friendly towards each other and jointly brought Nikolai to school on his first day. The two of them seem to be good friends.

I think it's wonderful that Joachim and Alexandra still remain friendly after their divorce. So many divorced parents end up hating one another and try to drag their children into it and the kids grow up resenting that. But for two people so high-profile like Joachim and Alexandra, being seen in public together with their children after a divorce is really admirable, and the little boys seem very happy. Even if they don't get back together, I think they're both good for what they're doing for the sake of their boys.

Though it came as a shock to all, and they do look wonderful together, there were obvious strains in the marriage that made it impossible to go on. So very sad, really.

But now, a few years later, both parents are happy with a new partner, and Joachim and Marie are enabling the boys to be part of a bigger family when they come to Schackenborg. It seems to be turning out all right. Hopefully, Marie's presence will provide a more rounded family atmosphere when the boys are with their father.

Since they live with their mother and her new husband most of the time, this will be very good for them.

Marie has lived the life of a child of divorced parents, knows what it is like, and appears to be a very wam and fun-loving person. She is perceptive and hopefully will provide a nice balance so all will be happy together.

It is a real plus that the two couples are on good terms.
