Well said!

Roxsteve must have some insider knowledge that we don't to be so "sure" Mary had fertility treatment  :whistling: it really gets up my nose when people make assumptions that beyond 35 all women need fertility treatment to have twins or even to fall pregnant. A friend of mine has two teenage children and discovered she was pregnant again at 43 and she hadn't been planning on any more!

I agree. Twins can happen more during advanced maternal age (Age 35 and over) because the body starts doing odd things so two eggs can be released during ovulation (which is what happened since Mary had non-identical twins).

It´s not sure that Prince Christian and Princess Isabella will visit today. They probably will, but nothing sure and nothing has been released.

I don´t think we will see them at the hospital. I think they will be taken in and out at another entrance :)

You were absolutely right: according to TV.dk Christian and Isabella have visited their siblings but they have come in by another entrance :flowers:

Muhler has an artistic translating service:flowers: with his own opinions added:flowers:

Aww congratulations !

Regarding the comments about her figure, for a normal woman with 4 kids will have hardtime to get her figure back I think in the case of Mary having babysiter and personal trainings are very easy to go back to her all figure, specially if she didn't have c-section, she has everything she needs or want at her feet so everything it is easier for her than for all of us . Still she did a marvellous job delivering twins via normal way!so congratulations!

You are most welcome. :)

The comment was mine. ;)

I'm hoping that Mary carries her son, and Frederik carries his daughter during the christening. :)

Whatever happens after this ashelen one thing is for sure and certain the struggle to regain the post baby figure we all have will not be Mary's. Life is so different here and what's for dinner and putting the washing on the line and so on aren't questions she would need to ask ..... so good luck to them and happy days

It's interesting how traditions differ in different countries - and families. Here it is a tradition that the "main" godmother holds the baby at the baptismal font, not the mother (there can be several godmothers but the one holding the child is the "main" one). The christening gown is usually decorated with pink or light blue depending on whether the child to be christened is a girl or a boy. The gown in our family also has two "under gowns" that can be changed, a pink and a light blue one.
I think the DRF does it a bit differently from many other Danes. In my families and many other I know of, babies are indeded usually held by the 'gudmor' - the main godmother. And in my family we also have a light pink and light blue under gown for a girl and a boy respectively :)
In my family we also have a family christening gown and a pink and a light blue undergown to change with :flowers:

In Denmark we operate with the terms "Gudfar/Gudmor" and "fadder".
"Gudfar/Gudmor" (Godfather/Godmother) is the one holding the child and saying the name out loud at the christening.
"Fadder" is just a witness to the christening.

The Churchbook is a book in which all christenings, confirmations, weddings and funerals are written for the future. It´s the priest who do this or the "Kordegn". I don´t know how to translate "Kordegn".
In "The Churchbook" there are no difference between "Gudfar/Gudmor" and "Fadder". They are all the same. So it´s not the church that make this difference between the one holding the child and the witnesses. There has to minimum two and maximum 5 "Faddere/witnesses" and one of them is the "Gudfar/Gudmor".
But as we all know then the DRF are a bit special at this point :flowers:

I'm hoping that Mary carries her son, and Frederik carries his daughter during the christening. :)
Me too, that would be so sweet :flowers:

I know what you meant. ;)
OK :flowers::flowers::flowers:

According to TV2 news online - http://nyhederne.tv2.dk/article.php/id-36399048:royale-søskende-besøgte-tvillinger.html?forside - Christian and Isabella have visited their new siblings today. However, they were admitted through another intrance - to avoid the press.
Probably a good idea till they have gotten used to the idea of having new siblings. Perhaps we well see them with Frederik and Mary and the twins instead when they leave the hospital.

Oh so sad that we haven't seen them but it is absolutely understandable. So let us wait for the official family photos. Will be great! I wish the family all the best. :flowers:

I can't wait to see the first photos of the twins! No doubt that they will be a handsome/beautiful as their parents.

In my family we also have a family christening gown and a pink and a light blue undergown to change with :flowers:
That is nice!
My family has a gown of white silk with a yellow ribbon (to fix the bonnet) and a few yellow flowers on the long skirt/train. So it is easily used for both genders.

It is really special in Denmark.

I'm Lutheran as well (but German). Normally we have two godparents, but you can have more than two. I have 3 godparents. They have the same "rank", so their is no difference made between them in advance. I am closer to one of my godmothers, but it developed when i was older, because she is living very close to my parents and she is my father's sister, so i'm seeing her a lot. She is also the only one which i call "Dote" and not "Patentante" (Pate means godfather, Tante means aunt).( "Dote" is the Swabian word for "Patentante". "Dote" is a bit more individual to me.)
The godparents (all of them) have to be christian. At least one of them has to be a confirmed Protestant.
(Protestant means in Germany mostly Lutheran or Reformed. Most Protestants would call themselves "evangelisch" in Germany and hardly anybody differs between the Protestant ways. So most churches are united churches - so both reformed and lutheran.).

ohooooo, CONGRATULATIONS. That's so special to have boy and girl twins. I hope I can do the same :))

We have light pink and light blue ribbons to adorn the gown and then a very old lace hat.

It is really special in Denmark.

No, it´s not that different from what you have in Germany :) It´s just me who can´t explain it easily :flowers:
But also here in Denmark all the witnesses have the same rank according to the church, but the one holding the child is a bit more special in the eyes of the laymen :flowers: But as a minimum there are 2 and maximum 5 witnesses. And then there are the DRF :whistling::p:whistling:

That goes the same here in Denmark except for the last part. All the witnesses has to have confirmed their own christening. That has something to do with the age of the witness at the christening time. That they know what they are witness to :)

I am just soooo thrilled for Frederik and Mary! Now they have 4 children, and two of each! I'm so so so happy for them. Now all we need is to see them, and hear their names in about 3-4 months!

Congratulations to the royal family!

It's not something they take that serious...:whistling:

I'm an atheist and I haven't been a member of the State Church (Folkekirken) for many years and nevertheless I've been a wittness/fadder twice. Once at a Lutheran ceremony and the other at a Catholic ceremony. And my own children are both baptized. (Of consideration to Mrs. Muhler's family). I was never even asked about my faith.

So I see this more as an honorary thing.

Well, in theory the priests do take it serious, if you ask them :p But in practice - that´s another case :whistling:

I guess with the number of people leaving the churches, they don't take it as serious anymore :)

Many Blessings on the safe deliveries for Mary

surgery speculation???

I wasnt going to suggest it, but if a c section was had to not only to ensure safe delivery of the twins, perhaps also a little 'tightening' of a certain Crown Princess' tummy was done as well ;)

Only a thought on my behalf, nothing more, so don't start scolding me for suggesting the possibility of Mary having an abdomnoplasty in conjunction with the birth :p

Even if she had a c-section (and I haven't read anywhere yet she did) why do you think she needs abdominoplasty to tighten anything? I had abdominoplasty (after gaining about 50 pounds in 1 pregnancy, which required a c-section). This is a serious procedure to fix abdominal damage done during pregnancy and I don't think Crown Princess Mary has endured this problem from this or any of her pregnancies - she is very careful not to gain too much wait and stays active throughout. Just because you are pregnant and deliver (even via c-section) doesn't mean you have a damaged tummy and need such serious surgery to fix it. Mine was definitely due to gaining too much weight (from overeating) and I don't see Crown Princess Mary having that problem.

I guess with the number of people leaving the churches, they don't take it as serious anymore :)
I always thought it is the other way round. Since so many people are confirmed and leave church as an adult, they started to controll the godparents before the christening. From my experience the priest asks for the certificates of christening and confirmation (each a copy of the church book).

Pardon me for asking but as a woman with no children I've always wondered... Are there some kind of belts or supportive garments etc. to be worn after childbirth until the skin and tissue on the stomach area firms up again? I do not mean to be insensitive but one would think starting exercise or just moving around again might feel a bit weird at first when suddenly there's all that excess skin in the midsection after giving birth.

I also think Mary is young and fit enough to be able to get back in shape without a surgery but then again, what do I know. If she needed some kind of a surgery later, I wouldn't judge her for it.
