BB has a picture gallery, Mary looks quite excited to see the little girl. I wonder if they have met before.
Mary looked quite nice but did not like the dress style.
Actually, the little girl did not want to give to Mary the flowers! so Mary talked to her in order the little girl to be less afraid! it's very sweet:flowers:

Mary was stunning yesterday!!! Just love this new dress! very elegant!

Aww how sweet, Mary with children is wonderful. I agree the dress i stunning, she looks almost radiant in those pictures. :flowers:

I love the photos of the little girl with the bouquet! The title of the Billed-Bladet article that Ccile is referring to is "The flower girl didn't want to give the bouquet to Mary". It says that she became very nervous when the Crown Princess approached her. She tried to hide her face in the bouquet.

Crown Princess Mary has given a speech at the session today, September 10 - here's a short summary by the WHO:

Her Royal Highness began her address to delegates explaining that she became Patron of WHO/Europe in 2005 because of her “strong belief that health is our most precious possession and its protection and promotion are fundamental to the health and well-being of our societies.”

In addition to her extensive support for immunization and maternal and child health, in 2010 Crown Princess Mary agreed to extend her focus to include the challenge of antimicrobial resistance.

Speaking about this issue she noted, “There is no doubt that we are witnessing an increasing number of bacteria becoming resistant, and thereby are moving towards an era that could resemble the situation before penicillin was discovered – when people died of common bacterial infections. A frightening situation – we risk jeopardizing one of the fundamental achievements that brought huge progress to public health … We all have a role to play: those who set the policy and strategies; those who prescribe; those who use; and those who produce, including industry – a role in keeping antibiotics effective for use by future generations.”

In conclusion, the Crown Princess commended countries for the positive health trends and improvements in the WHO European Region and expressed her wish that this Regional Committee session would renew the commitment of health ministries, governments and societies to work together to improve health.

It seems like Mary later this year will travel to Mozambique?

From her speech:

"Later this year I will be travelling to Mozambique together with the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and UNFPA to witness the country’s progress and the challenges they are facing in respect to these development goals"

Well done and well delivered message from Princess Mary.

Yes. We got pictures and covering from the day events with the WHO, but for some reason don't from the reception held in the evening the same day. Not before now, at least :)

the pictures were from Sept 15, in Denmark.
Mary was only in NY offically on the 22

Seems like Mary's visit to Tajikistan is shortened to the 23-24th October:

Kronprinsessen besøger den 23.-24. oktober Tajikistan - Kongehuset

Now, that is odd because I just checked the WHO press release on her visit published today, and it says the visit will still take place from 23rd to 25th October. I guess we will know which one is correct if or when the programme for the visit is published.

Telling us that Mary landed very early this morning in the capital Dushanbe and shortly after checked into a hotel in the inner city. It was a long flight of ten hours and a stopover in Istanbul and BB's reporter Ulrik Ulriken tells that Mary must have been quite tired (BB's reporter knows what he's talking about, he has most probably been on the exactly same flight as Mary), but Mary was, however, fresh upon arrival. In front of her are two busy days.

In the evening Mary was invited to welcome dinner hosted by Tajikistan's Minister of Health and Social Protection. Wearing a recycled blue dress.

Press release from the Danish Court:

Maybe remind her about when she in her youth in Tasmania graduated from university in similar outfit and hat ;)

Another thing: We are told in another article that Mary landed with the plane at. 3 o'clock in the morning. After a long flight travel across time zones. I'm always impressed how they can start a tight official program almost straight after and be 100% on from morning to late night. Phew. I always fly first class and would still be so tired and suffering from jet lag.

I can tell you that the coat worn at the University is of a deep royal luscious blue with very heavy embroidery. Just beautiful. A friend of mine brought one back to Australia one very similar. Hope she gets to keep it.
