The photos are wonderful! - Like Mary's outfit very much, too.

Now it's off to bed here in Denmark...

The time difference does not fit super good with Denmark's timezone. We can enjoy half of the day, when we have to go to sleep, and then first get the last part of the day when we wake up ;)

Hope it will be a succecful charity concert tonight with the Raveonettes.

Arriving and with the mayor of Mexico City, Miguel Ángel Mancera. At the ceremony presented Crown Prince of the city's key.

"Crown Prince Couple participate in the ceremony "Key to the City" with the mayor of Mexico City, Miguel Ángel Mancera. At the ceremony presented Crown Prince of the city's key. The ceremonial ritual has its roots in the Middle Ages, where the walls and locked gates entrenched city. In the presentation of the key to the guests are given a symbolic way of free access to Mexico City. Crown Prince speaks at the ceremony."

The Minister for Health, Astrid Krag, accomapny them on this trip as well as representatives for 50 Danish businesses.

Hi Muhler, this comes from the museum of anthropology website.

The hammered bronze column and fountain

The column of hammered bronze was created by José and Tomás Chávez Morado. It represents the mythological tree important to pre-Hispanic Indians and depicts in relief aspects of Mexico's history. The column is in the entrance to the museum.

Well, the whole anthropology museum is one of our MUST sites for turists, Marie and Joachim also visited, they were photographed infront of the aztec calendar. The museum is one of the XX century architectural jewels of the city.

That huge column in in the middle of the patio, so when you walk in is all you see and provides certain shade. Around the patio are the differnt halls for different prehispanic cultures, the biggest hall is the aztec one. I'm sorry I'm not really savy on prehispanic history...somehow it never atracted me much

Across the street from the museum is Chapultepec park and inside it the Castle where Maximilian Habsburg and Charlotte of Beligium lived. From Antropology museum to the Castle is a 5 minute walk and a little drive to the top of the hill or a hike if you are more adventurous.

Must have been a busy day for Frederik and Mary, too! I'm hoping all are sleeping sound and safe.

They both look relaxed! I like Frederik's outfit in particular.

and interesting note, in getty images they name Frederik as
Frederik André Henrik Christian de Glücksburg crown prince of Denmark,

Of Glücksburg? thats not really used is it?

Not here in DK. And certainly not since the Schleswigan Wars in the mid 1800's. Bad connotations. - The DRF are supposed to be above all that with family lineage and whatever the other noble families were up to.

Thanks. I recall the Regent Couple also visited this museum. Judging from QMII's look I think she would gladly have spend an entire week in there.

He may even be impressed.

Their visions of the future looks pretty temple-like to me. And why not? It worked for the Aztecs and Mayans.

Imagine an alternative world where M&F are visiting the Aztec empire.

Remarkable how much the first lady resembles Mary. They have exactly the same style, but the first lady pushes the profesional look even further (the smile, the hair...)

Impressed is a big word - especially when you're a formidable house builder yourself. Interested maybe, interested :D

Does anybody know in which hotel they're staying?

:previous: I read somewhere that M+F and the Danish delegation are staying at St. Regi's Hotel.

Just saw that President Enrique Pena Nieto has made the picture of him meeting M+F to his cover picture on Facebook

Thanks for the many pics, not least to Polyesco. :flowers:

I've noticed two things so far.

That Frederik was very conscious about not touching, or perish the though pulling down, any items at the museum and therefore very thoughtful buried his hands deep in his pockets. - Sorry, simply couldn't help it. That was one for the right leg. :p

And that he wore a "charmeklud" (= charmer-rag or charming-rag) around his neck to the concert. Are they coming into fashion again? Every well-dressed gentleman wore them in the early 70's.

And Joachim....;)

And Joachim....;)

Yep, and Prince Henrik very much so!

Like I said "well-dressed gentleman".

I just don't recall having seen Frederik wear one before, so I was wondering whether they are becoming fashionable again. - You know, we hillbillies out here in the countryside don't follow what's going on in the big city. ;)

Isn't it just a normal scarf, where he has the long end underneath the shirt? :)

Aww, nice pic!

**

Frederik and Mary were in the morning, noon, afternoon and early evening news. I didn't saw the longer evening broadcasts, but the time zone doesn't fit very well with Denmark's time. They (the evening news channels) can precisely not manage to get the new day in Mexico into their evening news, so they must wait until the next day and then it's not so new anymore. So is it better when they visit Australia, for example, there are ahead in time ;)

Noo, it does look like a charmeklud = charmer-rag. Royally Speaking: Photo

It is the proper way for a gentleman to dress casually. And as Nordic points out, Joachim - being a perfect gentleman - is of course frequently seen wearing such an accessory.

The youthful looking woman walking behind Mary in this photo is the Minister for Health Astrid Kragh. - She (and two other female politicians) has the not undeserved distinction of being compared to Daisy Duck's three nieces, Kylle, Pylle and Rylle (as they are known in Danish). http://www.andeby.dk/upload/modules/articles/articles/image/large/159788634394994126444682.gif
