:lol:When can we expect the illegitimate children?

Well, that may be a problem. :ermm:

Don't tell anyone, but down at the local grocer's they say that Frederik and Jeppeline Handwerk are planning to elope together.
Once they have established themselves, they'll adopt children. Problem solved...;)

As with still pictures, the video only captured a few moments of Frederik at the club, we don't see events of the entire time he was there. It wasn't the clearest video either so it's very difficult to make assumptions about the state of Frederik and Mary's marriage based on this. I think it was low behaviour to release the story right before the Christening.

A very sensible response, Katrianna.

I can't see anything at all untoward in going out with 'the boys' once in a while and even partying on in a nightclub, particularly in the company of his brother in law! I must say, too, that Frederik didn't look hung-over to me the next morning when he participated in the Christening.

I'd need a lot more 'evidence' than that fuzzy and indistinct phone video before I'd believe that Frederik isn't a good husband and a proud and caring father.

It does not look like Mary. The facial shape and features are not Mary's. The chin and smile are different. Are there more photos perhaps from the front.

That is definitely Mary on the left....give it a closer look:)

:previous:

I think we don't need to speculate whether it's her or not as the team from Billed-Bladet itself
has met her (see the article link I've posted), a mistaken identity seems out of the question :)

it looks like mary's sister, her daughter and amber petty are there with mary? i don't recognise the rest. i guess it must be exciting for her to show them around copenhaguen...

Actually the woman on the right is Marianne Singer, the reporter from BB :) I don't recognize any of the people in the background.

:previous: No confirmation is needed. The man in the footage is clearly Frederik. I don't understand how people can't tell it's him...

In any case, it hasn't taken very long for the Aussie media to run with the story. It's already made coverage on our morning news and is now online.

'Mary Forgotten'

Prince Frederik filmed dancing with blonde

does he have an affair with the blonde?

Sorry to disappoint you, but no, Frederik doesn't have an affair with the blonde. And the Danish media doesn't hint in the direction.

Thank you Sternchen for your reply. I will be away for awhile in May.So don't go to any trouble on my account. Also I noticed most of the royal ladies wore blue except for Prss Marie and Prss Benedikte cheers

Whether there is any truth to Frederik and a blond woman is perhaps not as relevant as to why a married man with two infants, a toddler and young child at home is out partying at 3.30am.

we all need to get out once in a while:flowers::whistling:

The only person I recognise in this one picture is Mary. None of those people are Amber Petty, Mary's sister Patricia, or Patricia's daughter. As far as I am aware, none of Patricia's daughters made the trip.:)

Okay, Billed Bladet has hit the streets and needless to say, it's filled to capacity with articles about the christening.
With particular emphasis on Bella, but bette Henrik gets his share of the attention as well.
More on the christening later.

QMII's birthday in Aarhus is also mentioned.
And we learn that Isabella will celebrate her birthday at Marselisborg Thursday. The DRF are often gathered at Marselisborg during Easter.

For those interested in Queen Ingrid, there is a mentioning of her stepmother, with whom she appear to have had a less than loving relationship with.

Mary has really been showing her family the town! Frederik seems to handle the nightlife, while Mary takes care of the sightseeing. ;)

And then (fanfare) we have a brief interview with Mary.

Excerpts from article in Billed Bladet #16, 2011.
Jeg er stolt af mine børn - I'm proud of my children.
Written by Marianne Singer. (*)

Mary was strolling with her family and friends at Kastellet (**) when Marianne Singer encountered them. Mary, as so often before, carrying a camera around. (Nikon, for those interested).
With her went John Donaldson, her big brother, John, Her sister, Patricia, Josephine Rechner and some Scottish relatives as well.
Frederik was there as well.

Q: How was the day yesterday?
Mary: "Magnificent! It's a relief everything went so well".

Q: The press has commended your children's behavior during the chirstening. How does that feels as a mother?
M: "I cannot help feeling a little proud of that. The children were themselves and did not behave like little dolls, but (behaved) natural. The two big ones played and were so happy to be a part of it and (also) happy on behalf of the twins. All four of them were sweet".

Q: You opted for Prince Christian and Princess Isabella to accompany you to church...
M: "We are after all one big family. And it's just as big a day for them as it is for the twins. But it was the little ones who were the stars of the day".

Q: Was it the Crown Prince or you, who decided on the names?
M: "We agreed on the names. We are a team".

Q: Is the name Mathilda a salute to the Australian people?
M: "Yes, it is, but there are also many with the name Mathilda in the Danish history". (***)

Q: Have you also been involved in regards to the Greenlandic names?
M: "Yes. We have always been recieved incredibly well in Greenland. It's a very beautiful place with a lot of warm people. And I have a husband, who harbours a great love for Greenland".

The group enjoyed their outing on this, one of the first Spring days in DK this year. They went along the quay back to Amalienborg after having had a look at the Little Mermaid, who has returned from her trip to China.

(*) Marianne Singer has gone from BT to Billed Bladet on the 1. April. At BT she more or less took over the royal coverage (in the paper version of the tabloid) from the legendary Bodil Cath, when she retired a few years ago. As such, Mary knows and may even have been interviewed by Marianne Singer before.
It'll be interesting to learn to know the style of Marianne Singer.

(**) Part of the fortress works at Copenhagen.

(***) Hence the spelling I presume. I cannot recall any historical Mathildas, who were spelled Matilda.

Søndagstur på vandet - Sunday outing on the water.
Written by the venerable Ulrik Ulriksen.

Mary didn't just take her family out on a walkabout around town, no they went sailing as well. In the same boat from Dannebrog that Prince Henrik and the boys used after the christening.
Frederik was there as well, with his cheeks as smooth as a baby's bottom. Gone was the beard.
Christian and Isabella were there, prudently wearing life jackets.
Considering that John Donaldson, sister Patricia, Susan Moody and Amber Petty was there as well, plus a couple of sailors and a couple of anonymus gentlemen there wasn't much room left in the boat.

They sailed for a tour of Copenhagen harbour. Christian is apparantly preparing mentally for the day when he will become commander in chief, because he left the boat as the first child. (*)

(*) You know, the highest ranking enter a boat as the last one, but leave it as the first one.

Dåbsdisko i Nyhavn - Baptism-disco in Nyhavn. (*)
Written by our man about town Ulrik Ulriksen.

Frederik had simply rented the nightclub, Simons, for the afterparty.
Apparantly he and Joachim shared the practicla role of looking after the guests.
The close friends and various family members arrived at the night club around 23.00, fresh from the dinner at Amalienborg. Other friends arrived on foot from elsewhere.
The press was already out in force, when the first limousine with among other Frederik and our Marie arrived.
Followed ten minuttes later by another limo with Joachim and other guests. Joachim laughed aloud when he saw the press: "It appears I ruined a good story for you there". Referring to what the press could have made of Frederik and the fair Marie going to a nightclub without Joachim, nor Mary.
Princess Marie had....eh, footwear on her feet.
Joachim was in great mood and he ensured that plenty of champagne was at hand to quench the thirst.
The party left around 03.00 with Frederik in the lead, appropriatly escorting Marie, as befits a lady.

Martin Jørgensen and a male friend was observed in a car outside the nightclub around 02.00. After having looked thoughtful at the door to the club, they drove on.

(*) Nyhavn used to be a rowdy area frequented mainly by sailors, who wished to sample the various brews served in the countless bars there. - Before or after seeking up ladies of ill repute who patrolled the sidewalks.
Nowadays Nyhavn is still full of bars and cafes and restaurants. It has turned into a scenic but expensive tourist trap.

Fødselsdag hos farmor - Birthday at grandmother's.
Written by Annelise Weimann.

As you know, M&F didn't join the Regent Couple at Marselisborg for QMII's birthday as they still had friends and relatives staying as guests.

However, they will join the Regent Couple for Easter and not least to celebrate Isabellas birthday at Marselisborg. (*)
M&F have previously said that they will spend a couple of days at Marselisborg during Easter.

- Which means that they might after all drive on to Trend. I guess there is a very good chance that Joachim and our Marie will join the family as well.

(*) They have beforehand celebrated birthdays at the lodge in Trend, about an hour and a half by car north of Aarhus.

Thanks for the translations Muhler! :flowers:

I wonder if Fred's beard was a "twin beard" since he seems to have started to grow it when he found out Mary was pregnant and shaved it off once the christening was over.

I loved the beard on him! It was very rugged and handsome. Like Haakon, I prefer Fred with a beard - but I have no say in the matter!! LOL

is there any pic somewhere of fred without a beard again?

Muhler -- could you please explain to me why Marie is known as "our Marie." I'm certain it has been discussed previously, but I must have missed it. By the way, I do enjoy your translations. Thanks.

She is not generally named like this, I would rather say it's a preference of
Muhler himself ;)

Oh, that's just meant as an endearment. :)
A little peculiarity of mine.

And... well, work it out yourself.

You are most welcome. :)

and we have to add that he's a very good tourist guide: frederik was showing his favorite night club to his brother-in-law... i read that john donaldson(mary's brother for those who doesn't know) was that night with fred...

Fred is not clean shaven at all!

This is from the family walking at Kastellet.

BB says he was cleanshaven when they went sailing in Copenhagen harbour Sunday.
