I have one question: does Mary speak a bit french??

I'm wondering because in this royal family they all speak french ( the queen too I guess??) because of prince Henrik. So maybe she has learnt a bit of french since she's in the family.

Anyone knows??

I believe that Mary speaks a tiny bit of French. She lived in Paris before her marriage to Frederik for a few months. I know that she is not fluent, but she most likely knows a handful of basic phrases.

You're probably right sgl; she certainly doesn't speak it fluently because (if I'm right) she has said that Danish is the first foreign language she's ever learnt.

Mary does look incredible in those pictures, so natural and fresh-faced.

Yes I believe danish was her first foreign language, because she said it was hard but she had nothing to compare it to.

Lovely pictures, Mary and Fred look really close in them and quie close unlike what is said. Its nice to see that Mary also got some time to go shopping and stoll the streets of St.Tropez it is a wonderful place. I wonder if the children went as well or stayed on the yacht.

surprise surprise when you go to one of the most celebrity and paparazzi soaked areas in the world. here we go again, it's the same every year, they go to places where they and their children are seen, living the sweet luxury life, incl yacht, shopping, etc

it's their right to do so and they are lucky that the danes don't seem to mind but no reason to pity them that they are chased by photographers, who are already in the area before M&F chose to join them.

sometimes i ask myself though if there are no nice places in denmark to go to what would be more politically correct but maybe it will cause more upset to the danes to see the cp couple spending the cash in denmark and will rather accept them doing so on a celebrity hotspot what is more unreal to the ordinary citizen.

Considering we have seen Mary&Frederik (&children) on summer holidays at several places in Denmark in the last five years - and this is the first time (AFAIR) we see them at a celebrity hotspot, I think you can stop asking yourself those questions. There are places to go in DK, but I don't think the Danes expect their cp couple to holiday in DK only. And I don't quite see why spending the cash in St.Tropez instead of Skagen would make it less upsetting to anyone.

Regarding paparazzi I actually agree with you. If you go to the Riviera in summer you have to accept the possibility of paparazzi-pictures (if you are of interest for the media). And somehow I get the impression Mary&Frederik decided to enjoy themselves and not give a damn about paparazzis. I don't feel sorry for them.
