I guess that the reason I am asking is that a some point some member of the staff would let the name slip. I don't understand how they could call her by her name and it does not get out to the media.

It could be that the staff has signed a confidentiality agreement.

By using the nickname "Lillepigen" instead?

The Swedish king or queen pointed out in an interview on television around the state visit to Denmark that the family still calls Christian by his nickname: Lillemand. (Little man).

That why I was asking the question, because it would seem to hard to keep it from the press. I think that the nicknames are cute!!

I think M&F will find it difficult to call a tiny baby Ingrid. Nevertheless, I think they will honor F's grandmother. My guess the name will be Ingrid Rose Margrethe Mary.

It's not ridiculous it's tradition. We have to wait until the christening to find out the name like it or not.

I certaintly do NOT hope they will use Henrietta as a first name. The name is not pretty nor really royal at all. Just because Mary´s mother is dead (don´t think I´m not sorry about that) they should still remember that Lilleprinsessen IS a Danish princess and is born to (besides her parents) Denmark and should therfore have a Danish name. Henrietta isn´t that much Danish-like. It would become Henriette then and Prinsesse/Princess Henriette doesn´t cling very well IMHO

My guess would be: Tea/Astrid Dagmar Caroline Ingrid
I know Christian received the names of both of his grandparents and Lilleprinsessen would probably be given the same but as I said this is my guess (hope)

Given that Queen Dagmar was married to King Valdemar Sejr - the two names are certainly connected in Danish history.

Henrietta/Henriette might not be a royal name in Denmark, but the English, Scottish and Irish did have a queen by that name - so one cannot say that it isn't royal.

Personally I'm inclined to believe that they encompassed Henrietta in Christian's name by using the French spelling of Prince Henrik's name, instead of the Danish.

I don't think they will name her Ingrid as a first name. There is already a Ingrid in the family. I could see it being a middle name though.
