 And they're not just red pants, they're red velvet pants  . I tell you, Frederik does love to make fashion statements once in a while (though the velvet has got to go).

I believe the material is needle cord not normal velvet. I never understood the fuss about the red pants

I think it's either from year 2008 or 2009. Isabella and Christian were still small in the offical portrait. Frederick was holding Isabella (who was staring at the bubbles) on his lap ; Christian was stretching one hand out to catch the bubbles on Mary's (who was blowing the bubbles) lap. Thanks!
