Two events/meeting today has in the last minute been added for Mary in the calender:

The last event there will be 'no press access' - and probably not much more than a picture or two from the meeting with Foreign Minister Christian Jensen and Executive Director of UNFPA taken by a photografer in the Ministry of Foregin.

It is such meetings the royals probably has many of, but it is work the general public never seen.

Is there a reason these meetings have been published while those others are not?

Her skirt looks lovely. :flowers:

Is there a reason these meetings have been published while those others are not?
One reason for this particular meeting to have been added to the calendar is probably:

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Kristian Jensen:
"Denmark is at the forefront when it comes to the fight for women's right to decide over their own bodies. And the struggle continues on my watch. This commitment I have given to Crown Princess and Dr. Babatunde at our meeting, "said Kristian Jensen."

Other than that....The court is very inconsistent in the way meetings and audiences are added to the calendar....Especially Frederik's :bang:
Don't know why....

From time to time, news and sometimes a photo or two of his meetings, visits and audiences pop up somewhere on the net, sometimes months after the fact.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #35, 2015.
Written by the Ulrik Ulriksen.

As you know Mary recently visited a local branch of TUBA in Copenhagen, an organization dedicated to supporting and helping young and children who live or have lived in families where there is an alcoholic. Usually a parent.
TUBA has been around since 1997 and they have nineteen local offices around the country and in 2014 they helped some 7.000 young and children.

Anyway, Mary stayed for a couple of hours and here she talked with those present, but she also took part in a therapy session where the press did not have access.
This was a new experience for Mary and even though she apparently didn't have an active role it made an impression on her.

One thing the press did have access to was a conversation between Mary and one of the young, 24 year old Lisa Kjer and she has had her share of issues in her life!
She said: "Today I live more in the present and I wish for myself to create that nuclear-family I didn't experience while growing up".
Mary thanked her: "Thanks for the chat".
She was also taken for a tour of the place by 23 year old Julie Dahl, who told a visibly moved Mary her story.

Tonight, Crown Princess Mary participates in INDEX: Award 2015 Ceremony at the Culture Yard, Helsingør:

The very first glimpse of Mary arriving about 30 minutes ago:

:previous:

A clip was shown in tonight's 22-news on TV2.

We were told INDEX Award is the biggest and probably most important design award in the world worth €500,000.

I also noticed that Mary has been at the hairdresser - around 5 cencimeter shorter hair - as she usual has - looked beautiful :)

Hard to keep up with all Mary's work and meetings these days.

Today, Mary participated in Young Global Leaders' Day at Christiansborg Palace:

Crown Prince Haakon stands next to Mary :)

But the press weren't allowed to this event - neither to the dinner home in Frederik VIII's Palace tonight. Maybe Crown Prince Haakon attends the dinner as well?

You'd think she was just another person with a full time job! ;)

A pleasure to see her so often!

BTW Roskilde, have you ever seen her in person? If so, what impression did she make?

You would.

A little view over her week so far:

Monday: To the inauguration of the new psychiatric hospital in Slagelse.
Tuesday: The Mary Foundation launched their new project - Kærligt Talt.
Wednesday morning: Meeting with Foreign Minister of the Foreign Ministry.
Wednesday afternoon: Meeting with Director of UNFPA at Amalienborg.
Thursday: To the Index Award Design Cermony.
Friday morning: Attended the Young Global Leaders' Day at Christiansborg Palace.
Friday night: Host with a buffet dinner of the Young Global Leaders (YGL) at Amalienborg.

Yes, I have the pleasure to meet her together with my daughter to her Free Of Bullying children relays in Copenhagen. A lovely experience. I will return to that, when I have a little more time later today... :flowers:

Dear Hannelore.

Yes my friend and I, and our children, we try every year to reach to attend the Mary Foundation's Free Of Bullying relay race in Copenhagen. A large annual and popular event for families with younger children. And the children know all about the Mary Foundation's Free Of Bullying (more than us parents) as they use it in both their kindergartens and in their schools.

What impression did she make? Not much different than what we hear from all the other people having meet her :)

Mary is just good and natural talent with people and has a very pleasant personality. A laid-back Aussie personality. I remember that something I really noticed and admired was how (in Danish we say 'stille og rolig' she is. If it should be translated it must be down to earth/calm. There are many people around, many photographers around to those events, but when Mary sits down in front of you and your daughter you don't notice any of that around you. She is very present - something I've noticed everyone mentions. Sweet, natural and easy to speech with. You forgot it is your future Queen you sits and chats about children with :p

Noticed (and has ever since) that she is good to remember and taking time to everyone. The time schedule must then wait! And she also pushes a security barrier slightly to the side if it means she then can reach the two persons sitting in wheelchair at the back of the line. A property both F&M has. They are not afraid to get close to the people. And all kinds of people. IIRC Mary has said something like that she knows people often have waited for a long time, so taking the time to greet them is the least she can do.

My friend noticed that she is very loving in the form of touching - caress an arm, back or a cheek. For example she put her arm around another mother in front of us when the mother walked in the totally wrong direction to the scene where we all should start with some warm up. They both laughed a lot about that.

In spite of that I have noticed that both Frederik and Mary can seem almost shy at large events or when there is much focus on them. Especially at events where the actual focus is on them. Something I actually find very liberating and charming. I have seen Frederik in Roskilde last year, but never spoken with him or attend a event with him as with Mary. I much hope it happens someday. We are lucky here in Roskilde city, a town both F&M often visit.

Margrethe have I seen visiting Roskilde Cathedral once. But then I can't brag about having seen more royals members.

Thank you Roskilde. I've only ever seen Mary in pics & video but that's how I feel she has always appeared to be. Lovely that she is that person, in person. :flowers:

And a nice article from BB:
Kronprinsesse Mary løftede stemningen på Glyptoteket | billedbladet.dk

Even before Mary had said a single word from the stage she arranged for a good relaxed atmosphere to tonight's award ceremony.

The slightly subdued sound niveau was suddenly replaced by thunderous applause when Crown Princess Mary went on stage.

It made Mary to smile.
- But I haven't said anything yet, it humbly came from Mary.

She then held a long speech and delivered the background for why exactly the two special scientists who had contributed with excellent research should receive Carlsbergfondets prices.

With Mary's personal style she held an entertaining speech making the audience to laugh - despite the subject could quickly become something boring - it was about surface physics and chemistry, catalysts, materials, nanostructures and biomolecules.

Thank you very much, Roskilde. I love these personal accounts by fellow countrymen of a royal. No-one knows better than you how Mary comes across in Denmark :) And for all of her glamour and internationally acclaimed style... That's all that matters really.

I understand what you say about her calm and down to earth attitude. Maybe 'serene' also fits the picture? I've wondered about ths before... How much of queen Ingrid did Frederik see in Mary Donaldson: maybe he recognized the loving, stable, discrete but determined personality he was (unconsciously?) looking for?

I am pretty sure that the pink dress worn to Carlsberg is the same one worn to the Irish Wedding last year. She wore a white coat with it and a pink fascinator. The wedding of Soren Jessen on 30th august 2014.

Yes your correct, it is the same Valentino dress.

Thanks Iceflower,

A happy woman. It's a pleasure to see no matter how many events Mary has all of made with big smiles and cheerful mood.

And then we Danes are enjoying the last 'summery days' we have this week... It should be the last summer Denmark will have this year. Oh man.
