thank you for the pictures

i dont think this event was on her calendar but their are two pics on the DRF website
"HRH Crown Princess visited on Monday 16 December 2013 Children Youth Clinic at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen."

H.K.H. Kronprinsessen besøger Rigshopitalet - Kongehuset

Thanks Polyesco :flowers:

No this visit at Rigshospitalet meeting the hospitalized children and their parents wasn't mentioned in Mary's official calendar.

I have great respect for Mary and for her work as Crown Princess. And this is one of the reasons. It's far from the first time Mary visits her patronages unofficially and outside the press spotlight. That's genuine commitment!

Mary visited the Children/Youth clinic, where she among other things read aloud to the hospitalized children and their parents:

Thanks Roskilde. :flowers:

I see Mary is again watching the pensioners on the treadmill. - Good, good, it keeps them off the stre:wave:ets and out of mischief.

Muhler, at this time of year I think both you and I should be on the treadmill! I will use your pork recipe again, mange tak and God Jule:cheers:

Thanks Roskilde & Polyesco. :flowers:

What struck me most was the mother in the background. She sure looks like she has worried a lot!
Let's hope her child will get well soon, and her to gain a few kilos.

You are most welcome.
Yes, I think it will necessary to for some serious long walks with the dog in the next few weeks! - It helps, not least if we have to carry the critter, because she is too tired to walk anymore. (Okay, she was a puppy. But she's mischievious enough to come up with that idea again...).

And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.

Earlier today Mary visited the new home for Royal Copenhagen: Kronprinsesse Mary til indvielsesfest hos Royal Copenhagen | Billed Bladet

And she had a brief chat as well as admired the work of some of the artists handpainting the china.
She also presented three grants to artists working with Royal Copenhagen.

There's a picture in the article.

A great visit for Mary and must of been interesting to tour the work place, work on display looks interesting.

Mary looks great and the porcelain plates look beautiful

BB has followed up with a video: Kronprinsesse Mary besøger Royal Copenhagen i Glostrup - YouTube

It's the omnipresent Ulrik Ulriksen who is our reporter.

Mary is here explained the story behind the set made in connection with Christian's christening.
It consists of three pieces: A large plate, depicting forest-strawberries, as a reminder of the M&F's wedding in May.
A dessert-plate, depicting apples, becasue Christian was born in October.
And a mug depicting a winterflower, fitting with the season when Christian was christened. - It's such a thing, don't know the English word for them: http://www.fugleognatur.dk/images/galleri/IMG_5575vv.jpg

She's a hard working woman, our Crown Princess.* She looks beautiful. My mind goes back to 2009, when she was in Vietnam and visited a porcelain factory with mother-in-law. Mother-in-law painted creative flowers on the edge of no less than four porcelain mugs... Meanwhile Mary's creativity could just exactly handle a solid 'Mary' planted right in the middle of one porcelain plate :D

*Not to forget BB's Ulrik Ulriken who was with her in Myanmar as well. I would still have jet lag if I was them!

Hi Muhler the picture of the flowers shows Lily of the Valley flowers. The Duchess of Cornwall has a very nice brooch depicting these flowers.

Thanks Tarlita. :) I'll try to remember that.

I love Royal Copenhagen , pity is so dam expensive! I have some of the Christmas, plates, but I would died to have a full dinner set!
Mary looks lovely!

How can these not melt your heart?:D

She looks excellent in red, and the people she is visiting seem delighted. Not bad for a day's work!:)

The place is extremely interesting; look forward to visiting it myself, should the occasion arise.

As for what Mary is wearing; beautiful coat that would have looked nice on Princess Margaret in the 60's. Mary wearing it now looks very much like Princess Margaret in her 60's. The lace top looks drab, and the combination of heather-navy-grey doesn't work for me.

The earrings are beautiful!

Well, the last section was in reference to Royal Copenhagen. Sorry about the mishap!

today (cancer prize) in a red and black dress.

Thank for the pics. :flowers:

Let's have a look at what Mary said.

The flowergirl is five year old Julie Sommer, she's a cancer-survivor. She was diagnoced with cancer at age two and she is now cured.
Mary was pretty impressed with the little girl: "She sure is comfortable with being in the spotlight".

After seing a movie depicting people who have diagnoced with cancer Mary said: "I probably wasn't the only one to be moved be the film which we saw a moment ago. To see people fighting a serious desease makes a big impression, not least when it's children.
That children get caner or another lifethreathing desease is to most some of the most unhappy thing that can occour. Nevertheless you probably cannot quite imagine how mournful and painful it is ti have a child with cancer.
Active and happy days with the mates are replaced by long commitments to the hospital, harsh cures and isolation. To the parents it's a life of constant sorrow. Imagine how it must be if your child could not go out to play and take part in spare time activities for months or years due to risk of infection from other children or adulst".

Here is a very blurry picture from the Cancer Society's award in 2014
Instagram

I see it from a young Danish girl and titled "the world's most beautiful Crown Princess on stage" ;)

Here's another picture from tonight - this little flowergirl was stricken with cancer only 2 years old, but has now won over the cancer :)

It wasn't a single person who this year received the award. It was the kindergarten Siv which received this year's honorary award from the Danish Cancer Society. Siv is the only kindergarten for children with cancer or other serious diseases resulting in an impaired immune system and therefore puts a strong focus on hygiene and cleanliness.

Kronprinsesse Mary roste blomsterpigen | Billed Bladet

I see from this BB pic that Mary was accompanied by an adjutant. The DRF put on the big show for this event. That's not an usual sight - yet.
Mary (and indeed Frederik) are gliding more and more into the role of queen.

Here is a video from BT, where she teary eyed is presenting the Cancer Foundation award to the leader of the Kindergarten: Rørt kronprinsesse overrækker kræftpris | www.bt.dk

We also see a bit from the movie, which affected Mary. She wasn't quite her ususal composed self.

Indeed, although still professional she was quite teary. We don't see that so often and wonder what brought it on. I do like it though. She still grows in her role as years go by!
