We are pleased to embark on yet another year focusing on breaking taboos, disseminating knowledge and creating change for the many people who have bullying, violence and loneliness in the life. thanks Its great that the Mary foundation shares a picture. Often, Mary and Frederik have meetings and events that they attend that are not mentioned on the DRF calendar.

BB informs us that Mary will go to Greenland to look at projects that are involved with the Mary Foundation.
The visit takes place 29-31 August.

Domestic abuse of women, children and dogs (no joke!) is a serious issue in Greenland.

Today, Crown Princess Mary travels on a three-day working visit to Greenland, where she and Mary Foundation will focuses on domestic violence and in this context held the conference "Domestic violence - a shared responsibility".

The Danish Royal family's Facebook has just posted this video with Crown Princess Mary sitting in the car on her way to Copenhagen Airport while she is telling about the purpose of the visit:

(She speaks all in Danish, though)

Thanks Polyesco.

Already very nice pictures. And the weather looks beautiful!
But most important is the impressive work the Mary Foundation does.

** Bonus info: In Greenland the Greenlanders call Mary for "their daughter-in-law".
As you know Greenland love Frederik, and they have really taken Mary into their hearts too.

And we have large pictures from Mary's first event today: The visit to the day care center Sikkersoqin which work with the Mary Foundation's Free For Bullying

And a very nice BT gallery: Se billederne: Mary besøger Grønland

And yet another Daily Mail article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...oundation.html

ADDED: And a BB video: http://www.billedbladet.dk/kongelige...nlandske-boern

Mary is here talking about the local version of Free from Bullying and how the children initially were a bit shy and quiet, but soon opened up.
Notice her necklace that looks pretty local to me.

(Roskilde, you need to empty your PM-boxes).

The DRF's Facebook about Mary opening the Mary Foundation's conference today:

Crown Princess Mary: "We know that violence exists. We know that violence is illegal. And we know that violence is wrong. Nevertheless, the violence exists. Why? There is no simple answer, but part of the answer lies in the silence. If we do not talk about violence, it can continue uninterrupted."

In Greenland's capital Nuuk HRH the Crown Princess today, as chairman of the Mary Foundation, opened the conference "Domestic violence - a shared responsibility" with an opening speech.

Ready for today's video and smile? Isn't she lovely?

Much to the delight of the many Greenlanders Mary yesterday began her opening speech with speeching Greenlandish (perhaps the most difficult language in the world.)

Crown Princess Mary:
"I know that Greenlanders are very liberating and respectful people, so I also have to say here: it's okay to laugh! And I will laugh with you! And now you will find out why..."

And then Mary began her speech by talking in Greenlandic.

As you can read in the many comments it's one of the many reasons that the Danes really like Mary and Frederik. I conclude Frederik because he has exactly the same property.

Translation of the two most liked comments:

1.
She come across as the most lovely and warm person. With an humble Scots mind (after her father). And incredibly charming! I love Mary (and Frederik) aren't afraid to laugh and making fun of themselves! That's exactly why we respect and love them so. They not only make a fantastic work - but they also have the 'human and the personality' with them. And this is important! Totally proud.

2.
Pilutaq Lennert: I met her privately for about 10 minutes and I have to say that she is a wonderful, warm, sympathetic, friendly, down to earth and welcoming person ☝
We are fortunate to have her as Crown Princess

To the non-Danish speaking members...
When Mary had finished her Greenlandic part she laughingly asks the audience: Did anyone understand it? The audience clap and laugh and Mary says: I can hear some 'no's' and crack up laughing. And then she says in Danish: Well, I am very happy to be here.

From what I can read at the many comments Mary talked a good Greenlandic though and one could easily understand what she said. So well done.

Wow, first Danish and now Greenlandish. Well done!
I listened to a fragment of Mary speaking Danish. I couldn't understand a word of it. And Dutch does have similarities to Scandinavian languages.

"Princess Mary is a role model for them and many other Greenlandic women when she even is Danish and comes from another country, says Arnajaraq Berthelsen.

And the status is crucial if people dare talk about the problem of violence, believes Arnajaraq Berthelsen and Dorte Møller Platuu."
