Crown Prince Frederik as Patron of the Galathea Expedition
Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik laughs with operations officer Bjarne Hansen (L) on the bridge of the corvette 'The Ram' in the Copenhagen Harbour near the Royal Palace of Amalienborg August 10, 2006. The Crown Prince's visited the day before the start of the vessel's eight-month-long round the world scientific expedition called 'Galathea 3'.

The Crown Prince launch the Galathea expedition, you can read about it here http://www.galathea3.dk/uk quite interesting
He should have worn his navy uniform to this event. It suits him best of all his clothes IMO, his suits and ties sometimes looks like they come from H&M (in my never humble oppinion) which is a mystery since his brothers suits usually are impeccable, and its not like Frederik has a belly he needs to hide or anything

Yesterday, Oct 4th, Crown Prince Frederik, as patron, was present at the opening of a new permanent exhibition about railways and the Danish community at Denmark's Railway Museum in Odense.
He was riding in a special train from Copenhagen to Odense as part of this event.

That reminds me, does anyone have any pictures of the inside of the Royal Train Frederik used to travel to Odense? Kongevognen i believe it is called. I have only seen the inside once, shortly, on the news when they got it a few years ago. Anyways, if anyone has got pictures, feel free to post them...

I knew when I saw the pictures of the violet velveteen jacket, people would perhaps comment negatively...But I like it! It shows confidence, rebelliousness, eccentricity and flair, individuality...And it is definitely NOT boring...who wants to see yet another prince or politician in a boring navy/black blazer...
And being so bound by rules and protocols and tradition, maybe the only way Frederik is able to express himself is through the clothes he chooses to wear...Keep them coming, I say :)

OK, obviously Mary's fashion sense does not rub off on Frederick. Bless him, but his wardrobe is a bit out of touch with reality. Mary should have pitched that jacket when he was in Florida.

I'm definitely with you on this one and meant what I said - that I like it. The likeness of most men's suit is so tedious. I enjoy seeing men wearing something else than the safe .... and boring I honestly don't see what's tacky in men using colours - or why Mary should pinch his suit. Hands off!

What is not to say that Mary was the one who told him to wear the purple suit? Maybe he came out dressed in a navy blazer and she said "That's a bit bland/boring/ordinary darling...what about your lovely purple jacket?"...Maybe Mary actually loves seeing her husband dress in something kooky, quirky, offbeat or unusual? It definitely makes the world more interesting...and geez listen to me hyperbolising over Frederik's possible motivations for wearing a particular item of clothing...Get a grip on yourself Xeara, it is only a jacket!!! :)

Awww, I have much love for that suit. I like people to have some personality, not be afraid to wear something a little goofy.
