Yes, in a decent 22 minutes 20 seconds.
Buuut, he was overtaken by an eleven year old girl, Kristine Mygind Sørensen, who finished two minutes ahead of Frederik.

Mee, mee
Kristine said afterwards: "That was fun. I haven't said hello to the Crown Prince before, but he seemed very nice".

Cool little girl! With the icy paths yesterday, I had never reached the finish line
Here is a nice picture from Billedbladet of Frederik "in action"

Another little thing ... Our Crown Prince runs side by side among 500 other runners. Almost in one big lump. How is the security of Frederik at such events? It must be hard to be security guards at events like this where Frederik is in the middle of several hundred people. I'm sure that the safety is at the top about our crown prince, I'm just wondering.

I am prepared to bet that the runners immediately next to the Crown Prince were in fact members of his security team.
That;s the standard security procedure at events like that.

I wonder if the subject of horsemeat substitution came up, or if Diplomacy manners precluded that subject.

According to Billed-Bladet they might have shared basketball stories
http://www.billedbladet.dk/Kongelige...ball-helt.aspx
"In 1989, Ponta among profiles on Steuas team that won the internationally highly respected Romanian league. I wonder if the Prime Minister says the Crown Prince a few basketball anecdotes during the audience, and then it's possible that the crown prince returns a few highlights from his own active sporting life. Maybe with a few anecdotes from his career at Øregård High School basketball team from 1984-86."

Aha - basketball. I was just joking about the horsemeat anyway. Looks like Fred and Mary have some nice old tapestries hanging in the palace from this photo and others I've seen.

It's more likely the PM was served horsemeat.
The horsemeat scandal is hardly a problem here in DK, in fact butchers have experienced a considerable increased sale in horsemeat, with some butchers having sold out all they had.
Old recipies have surfaced, so horsemeat is back on the menu.
There is a good chance we have eaten horsemeat ourselves here at home, as at least one product we have bought occasionally have turned out to contain horsemeat. Nothing wrong with the taste, so we'd buy it again if and when the product returns.

Our media here say that the horsemeat story is a scandal in Europe at least in the UK. As a consumer I dislike misleading labeling. I like to know what I'm paying for. If I pay for steak for instance I expect to get beef steak not a substitute. I have never had horsemeat, I have always imagined it would be a strong taste. It would be interesting to know what the Romanian President was served though.

How awesome of Frederik! My respect for him only improves, and I wish more royals were as down to earth as him (and Mary)!
