Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary's Visit to Canada: September 17-19, 2014

I recently read on Tumblr that Fred and Mary are making an official visit to Canada in early Fall of 2014, I think it is. August/September, by what I read.

This was found on a site, and is from the Danish ambassador to Canada.

"2014 forventes også at byde på et stort officielt royalt besøg til Canada, når
Kronprinseparret besøger landet i efteråret."

As I understand it, it's talking about an official royal visit to Canada by the Crown Princely Couple in 2014.

This is the source: http://startvaekst.dk/file/437441/invitation_eksport_canada_20januar2014.pdf

Dated January 20th, 2014. So fairly recent.

Tumblr? I wasn't the only one who happend to find the obscure link where the visit is mentioned then? ;)

The Danish pdf says "efteråret", which google translates to "fall". It doesn't mention any specific month for the visit.

Question to the Danish posters: "efteråret" Is it something like September-November?

Correct.
So early fall must be sometime in September I guess.

Thanks for the information :flowers: Will look much forward to the Canada trip.

A long day for them; I will think long and hard if I have $60 to join them at the film festival:bang:

It will be some busy days for Frederik and Mary, the program is densely packed.
Looking forward to it :)

Saturday and Sunday are two days of rest for the couple before they travel directly to New York, where they have a program on September 22 before returning home to Denmark.

And yes, I also would say this trip is Frederik and Mary's first official trip to Canada. They have been in Canada in 2010, but it was not an official visit to the country.

How is the weather in Canada this time of year?

Frederik and Mary talking with the press just after their arrival. A segment in the TV2 news has just been shown...

Frederik gave a speech at the official lunch at Rideau Hall.

In his speech he weaved in a personal comment when he said his recent visit to Canada with Mary was the setting for a very special day.

- "This is the second time the Crown Princess and I have visited Canada together. The first time was with the Danish sports men and women during the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010 - between us, it was our four-year anniversary to attend the Olympic Games together. It's very important," Frederik with a smile said.

Part of the speech was also fluent in French.
