That is a totally unfair to say about a mom. It is very normal too see fathers instead of mothers to hold the carrycot as it is heavier for a woman to hold the baby like that.

I was waiting for all the Mary haters and irrational attackers to show up... Truth and Guido... About time!:D

I don't know what your family is like Guido, but in my family, fathers generally play an active role in taking care of the children, that sometimes even includes carrying them around! Imagine that! :p Parhaps Fred is like this too! Is this not normal where youre from?!

So how do you gather that Fred takes care of the baby more than Mary?! Because he held the baby on their way to grandma's house? I've seen way way way more pics of Mary holding the baby than Fred... perhaps instead of heading straight for Mary's throat and character you could have gone through this thread first

And on Mary's 'posing' for photoshoot... I was under the impression that they were just snappers camping out to get the first pics of the family since arriving home from hospital... That to me is NOT a photoshoot but then again, I am reasonable enough to realise this reality, and obviously not everyone is willing to believe that not all Mary wants to be is a superstar  And is Mary only allowed to look straight ahead now? Is it banned for her to look around at her surroundings? Is is bad for her to be aware? Perhaps she looked in their direction for a few seconds then the press decided they would use the pics where she is looking. Perhaps they were talking to her? Why is it that automatically you decide she just is this vain awful mother? I didn't see Fred urging her to try to look in a different direction. But obviously he is more understanding and less judgemental of her situation than you! Most people probably are...

And anyway, what about Rania who is posing in every other magazine, every other week? Is she a bad mother? Or a less caring parent than her hubby? What about all those royals that appear in magazines who have children? What about celebs? Why single out Mary? I think youre just mean. You really ought to at least think about what your writing before posting nasty things. And saying that a woman would prefer to pose in a photoshoot than take care of a baby IS nasty, and it doesn't say much about you

I really agree with what you said "bananarama" , how can any one judge a person on one picture!! " being a bad mother" what total rubbish!!!

This is just rediculous the woman is walking and there is a photographer. How exactly do you know she was looking for him? If she turns her head they take the shot. And as for fred holding the baby my husband held his kids too what's the problem he loves his child. That does not make mary a bad mother parenting is a shared job.

I think it is nice that Frederik is carring the carrycot, I see men walking with prams but they will only put one hand on the handle and walk alongside the pram.

Like it is uncool to wheel a pram.

Frederik is doing the manly thing in carrying his child, Mary carried baby for 9 months and gave birth to him, I don;t think it is asking too much of Frederik for him to carry the cot!!!!!!!!!!!

I read on another site that Britney Spears was a terrible, bad mum because she let a male member of staff carry her son's car seat (with him in it) down the steps of a plane.

I was so angry at that, but saying Mary would rather get her face in a shot than look after her son is pathetic, shallow and just rubbish!

If Mary was looking for a photo oppurtunity she would have been holding her son in her arms, that would get press attention.

I would rather Mary was smiling at the press instead of looking grumpy.

I read in an interview with the CP couple, actually it was a transcript of a television interview, that photographers watched them constantly at an occassion (can't remember which one) just to get a picture of them with their eyes closed, so the could caption the picture saying that they were asleep.
I don't care what anyone thinks, if you have photographers swarming around you in public, or even a few spying in your backyard (which technically the palace gardens are to them), are you not supposed to notice their presence?
If she had of just ingnored the press, people would be calling her rude, either way she can't win.
For smiling and being polite, she is said to be in love with fame. and, if she was indifferent, she would be called impolite and a "bad" princess.
Will she ever win? Probnably not, she'll always have supporters and critics.

As for Frederik holding the baby, have you ever carried a baby in a carry-cot like that? I can tell you that babies are alot heavier when they are carried in that way, and combine that with the energy it would take to breast-feed at all hours of the night, Frederik's probably the only one of them with enough energy to carry the baby.

Maybe you should consider how you would feel or react in a celebrity's situation before you write your reply to a picture.

Oh Amen Bananarama.

In response to the whole Mary haters statement.... I was thinking the exact same thing!

Now, I dont know about anyone else but I think that royals are beyond the status of celebrity. I dont think of any real royal as being a celebrity, they are royal and thats that...

Well said banarama! In fact I like the way Mary looked up and smiled at the press. She is like in touch with the people and not what some people obviously like to accuse her of. And Fred is a good father and husband to carry the carrier cot. After deliveries, the women are not supposed to carry heavy things like that to prevent prolapse uterus. Carrying the baby in the arms is much lighter than carrying a carrier like that.

Remember that Mary has had to give birth. Baby Denmark didn't slide out on his own, that took a little bit of work on her part. It's nice that Frederik is such a hands on father and Mary deserves a bit of a rest IMHO.

I completely agree with you! that is so right; she can never win, no matter how she react on the photographers.

Well if Mary were THAT attention seeking, she'd be in FRONT of Fred, don't you think?

I always believe in letting the man doing the heavy lifting Don't they know, that's what we really marry them for? ;) :D

what a sweet way to think...... Women must love you.

Lol. Well, they try but they're generally dissapointed. ;)

This talk of 'if Mary is an attention seeker' has to end NOW. I won't be editing the verbal warfare about Mary that took place in the last two pages. But, the next post, be it a reply, will be deleted. And if this continues further, the thread will be CLOSED.

Apparently Mary hasnt been following the Jude Law and nanny fiasco. Never hire a young nanny. It is temptation for the father and a bit confusing for the child. A older nanny is more grandparent like and I just trust them better

I don't think it is very suprising that thay have hired a nanny so early. They knew well in advance that the visit by thy Norwegian royal family was coming up and Mary may have wanted to attend at least one event. Matte is not only a nanny she is a very well qualified pediatric nurse who has previously worked with very sick children (much sicker than a little jaundice). In Mary's position I would want this medically qualified nurse on hand ASAP to reassure me of the little prince's condition (even if I was over-reacting). Starting the nanny/nurse earlier than is required lets Mary and Fred see the nurse in action and lets the baby know the nurse before being left in her care. She may be super-qualified but nothing will reassure anxious parents like getting to know her.

Crown Price Frederik is not Jude Law! All fathers do not have affairs with their young nannies! Some men actuall love and respect their wives! It doesn't say a lot about a marriage if a wife does not want to hire a young nanny because she will be a threat to the marriage...besides at this young age, the nany will be with the family longer!

In Guido's defense, I absolutely LOVE Mary but I did think it was a bit odd that in every frame she was looking directly at the camera.
There is NO way to tell what kind of mother she is from these photos and Fred isn't any better a parent that she simply because he's carrying the baby. However, it seems like Mary is much more comfortable entertaining the photographers than her husband which is ironic considering her role in the spotlight is much newer for her than Fred's is for him.

Matte is a trained nurse who specialised in paediatrics in Rigshospitalet. She was recommended by CPs Mary's obstetrician. Her contract is two years .

In respect with the administration ,not to pursue this subject further, kindly see these pictures in this link before you made any judgement. It is only one or two out of several photos that she is acknowledging the press. I would be happy and smiling at everybody after confining in the house for three weeks.:)

Picturedesk- just type crown prince Frederik

I think any mother, royal or not, would probably welcome some extra help so I say good for them!

There was just an article in US Vogue magazine about how many women are getting rid of their young, beautiful nannies after the fiasco with Jude Law...how silly!

Yeah, but I can understand a woman's fear. Being a new mother changes your life and how you see yourself (and on a cosmetic level, how you see your body), that may lead to insecurity, and that may lead to suspicion that your husband isn't in love with you anymore.
An insecure woman doesn't need an attractive, young nanny around to make her feel worse! And, that in turn may make her feeling towards the marriage, and the marriage itself, worse.

I didn't really think of it that way...you're right. I guess it depends on the individual person and what they're comfy with. I personally wouldn't be hiring anyone but an old lady!

I think you're right! Me too, all the way!:D

when is the prince's Baptism??? who can tell me the ture time? thanks!!!

Unfortunately it hasn't been announced yet. It will probably be early in the new year because CP Mary's family lives in Australia and they need the time to arrange their visit and also the christening needs to fit in with the other royal events that are happening around the same time. I know that when the date is announced we will find it here! No doubt about it!:D

So glad Mary has a lovely pram, and not one of those oh so common bugaboos, those tiny front wheels just kill me.

But what about the christening gown that has been used in the family for so long? I heard that there was this thing about trying to get the young prince christen asap so that he wouldn't grow out of it before the christening took place.
