Wedding of Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo, July 25 & August 1, 2015

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Don' t worry for the cost! The major of Angera said that the fireworks and all that jazz are covered by the city's taxpayers:

Here

I haven't seen photos of Matteo Marzotto .. I wonder if he was at the wedding ..:ermm:

For the Casiraghi/Borromeo Nuptials, close to a thousand guests were housed and feted in Monte Carlo Monaco, one of the most expensive cities on the planet. The evening Gala at the ultra exclusive Hotel de Paris alone must have cost Caroline of Hanover a king's ransom:eek:.

Now we arrive at Lago di Maggiore, where we have food, beverages, hotel/castle accommodations and speedboats to transport over a thousand wedding guests around the Borromean Islands over 2-3 days.

All this is not even counting the bride's FIVE custom made haute couture gowns.

My guess is that most people could live very comfortably for the rest of their lives off of the $$ that went into this extravaganza.

For me this wedding looked like celebrity wedding... maybe like George Clooney wedding? :)

I disagree completely. The Clooney wedding, while extravagant and glamorous, was pure Hollywood nouveau riche. There was no aristocracy, no Royalty, no association with historical dynasties...just fashion and money. It took place at an exclusive hotel in Venice...not ancient family owned palaces and castles.

The only thing Clooney/Alamuddin wedding had in common with Casi/Borromeo was Italy and wealth, imo.

Looking at the lovely pictures of the boat, island, dock, et al, it brought to mind when Grace Kelly arrived to Monaco on a yacht, with her Prince waiting to greet her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYT2bqzWP5c

How lovely to think Pierre's maternal grandparents were there in a way, to pay homage to them, both arriving via water for their respective wedding(s). :flowers:

Besides Tatiana, I think most of the women were not on their best. Beatrice ofcourse was gorgeous, although I'm slightly disappointed she opted out of a tiara.

The Borromeo family tiara was not for her.

When I see again the PdV pictures of Lavinna's wedding it was in the Borromeo huge Palace , reception in the Palace and the wedding in a Chapel of the palace of Isola Madre.

A completely other world..

Strictly spoken Donna Beatrice wore only two wedding dresses: one at the civil ceremony in Monaco and one at the religious ceremony in Italy. All other outfits were for the surrounding festivities and not a "wedding dress".

:flowers:

It seems the guests were staying at the Grand Hotel des Îles Borromées (5 stars). See picture.

Athina Onassis, herself a professional show jumping amazone, is married with Álvaro Afonso de Miranda Neto, a professional show jumping rider. Both of them are very involved with the happy few, travelling all around the world, attending concourses hippique, by nature very posh events. They are waaaay older than Donna Beatrice and Pierre, it is really not so strange they were not among the guests....

:flowers:

Athina Onassis Roussel was born in January 1985 in Paris, the same year as the bride. It is her 12-13 years older husband Doda who is considerably older than the bride and groom.

Anyway as you stated, they have their own very exclusive circle that they choose to travel in.

Beatrice looked gorgeous in each of her dresses. But I too was disappointed at the lack of a tiara. She wore some floral hair ornaments which I think were the same which Princesses Charlene had borrowed from Princess Caroline. But with all the perfection in her gowns, I think that the wedding hairstyle was Beatrice's only miss. Imo, the way the veil was fixed looked odd, and her hairstyle and the way the diamond brooches were fixed seemed a bit awkward.

:previous:The absence of a tiara seems very "Beatrice" despite the posh, regal surroundings and her aristocratic lineage. I am not at all surprised that she decided to forego one.

I'm a little disappointed, but she more than made up for it with her no holds barred megawatt beauty and style. I honestly barely noticed the lack of a tiara on such an incandescent bride.;)

I think the floral pieces Beatrice wore where much smaller then the one worn by Charlene. At last iot looks o on the pics i have seen of her from the side. Perhaps some peaces could taken out of peace worn by Charlene.

Matteo Marzotto was interviewed by corriere della sera yesterday and said He is overseas. Thanks Tosca for informing that diamante Marzotto was there. How about the other 300 Marzottos? All overseas just these days? :0

Different venues for the two weddings?

Addendum to my prior post:

I just wanted to say that in no way, shape, or form did Beatrice & Pierre's wedding resemble something out of hollywood. The only thing Pierre's wedding had in common with his glamorous maternal grandmother's was that they both arrived via water and by boat. Other than that one can see the obvious contrast(s).

His grandmother arrived in a fabulous hollywood huge yacht, whereas Bea & Pierre arrived in a humble beautiful little boat. As well, Bea & Pierre's wedding was not overdone nor were they. Their pedigree & class is all they really needed.

Lastly, I love the fact that it was not televised and was a fairly private affair between two aristocratic noble families.

Lol, now I can't wait for the next chapter in their lives ~ hopefully babies!

I think that Charlene’s floral hair ornament consists of many small elements that can be arranged in innumerous different ways. That way it was possible for Charlene to have it arranged all around her bun. I can imagine that Beatrice wore only a small part of it on one side of her head, and maybe some more on the other side. But there is only one picture, and that is a wide shot. So it is difficult to tell if they are the same design.

Well, a commoner girl (though of aristocratic lineage) married a commoner man without any royal titles, too. So a tiara would have been pretty unappropriate.

It is not uncommon that commoner girls with some aristocratic ancestors wear their family tiaras at their weddings, provided that there are tiaras in the family. There wouldn't have been anything surprising or inappropriate in that at all. In Beatrice's case it seems that both her father's family and her groom's family own tiaras, maybe even her mother's family, the Marzottos, do as well. Also her sister-in-law Tatiana wore a tiara although she has no aristocratic ancestry herself. Why shouldn’t Beatrice? I can only assume that Beatrice didn’t like that look for herself.

Beatrice's Father should have escorted the Princess of Hannover.

Difficult Situation for the Borromeo family as Paola Marzotto did not marry Carlo Borromeo.

A Godness does not wear a Family tiara. She did not wear Charlène's floral piece which was bigger and a loan from Caroline.

Again this was not a royal Wedding and may not overshow the royal wedding in Sweden where 5 Queens attended.

Looked like one hell of a party :D

I have to say I didn't recognized Bea's bil Antonius. I mean he looks good, but his brown hair and beard are gone, a bit irritating.

Congrats to the couple again! :flowers:

Well, to me the all business was quite confusing... Too many guests, too many previous dinners and after parties, too many ( five or six ) gowns for just one bride, a confusing dress code ( if there was any... ): ladies overdressed and ladies underdressed ( Charlotte poorly dressed, P. Alexandra with a long dress and heals - hurray - P. Caroline somewhere inbetween... ), guests finding hard to get on boats or to get off boats.. Ufff...
In the overall, a beautiful bride and proud groom, may God bless them with a long and happy life together. Now, WE WANT BABIES!!!

Do you suggest that she had no access to all those because she is born out of wedlock? This is disgusting. Since her father had Beatrice and Carlo out of the wedlock and he did recognise them they should have the same rights. I do not believe this was the reason. She just choose to do like she did.
And what a delicate situation for her brother also. Being the only male but is he then heir of the title or not?
By the way I did not see her father. Did he accompany her at the church or not?

I agree! Both Pierre and his brother had fairytale weddings and the best I've seen of any "royal wedding". Here's to hoping Charlotte decides to join the club!

Charlotte could not do like her brothers. Gad El Maleh is not a male version of Borromeo or Santo Domingo

I did not see any pics of Lavinia nor her husband. Were they there?

And I found quite strange that from the couple Albert and Charlene no-one was there.

Besides Gad is a jew, wich makes me bet that Charlotte's wedding ( if there's going to be one ) will be just a civil matter... :whistling:

Yes Lazuli a confusing but for me a very wonderful confusing. I enjoy very much this wedding , the guests , all the dresses and this beautiful (x100) bride. Yes want babies but not so soon :)

Yes Eya, you're maybe right... there's no arm in seeing the romantic side of things...

Prince Albert is on royal duty in Malaysia, Charlene is said to be in St. Tropez

This wedding made me a little dizzy: all these days of celebrations, and do many changes of outifts! Well, not bad for a girl who said she would love to marry a mechanic:whistling:;)

wartemberg: in saint tropez, for what? vacations?:ermm:

Not unappropriate at all. Plenty of women without any title, land or estate to their name marry with a tiara. Tatiana wore one aswell.

Our posts are confused also.

To Fandasacs : Paola Marzotto gave to Marta Ferri a red corail modern tiara she wore on her wedding day. She did not wear the Borromeo tiara either.
Your answer was harsh ... you did not see Beatrice's father , He accompagned Lavina at the Borromeo Chapel. All this Wedding Event was at Borromeo Castle and Prince Gilbert Borromeo , head of the House hosted.
By the way Lavinia Elkann was missing too.

This Borromeo/Marzotto wedding seems different .

Sorry, if your reply is all for me I do not really understand.
Why my answer was harsh, i gave my opnion.
The remaining of your post was about Lavinia's wedding?
I remember Lavinia's wedding, I agree that they were diffrences, what I disagree is about the reasons of the differences.
Maybe also because Lavinia wed the heir of the Agnelli dynasty?
I did not see Beatrice's father but i do not suggest that he did not attent. I just not know if he accompanied her at the Church, as per the tradition, or if the couple arrived together, modern way.
By the way i saw pics of Lavinia arriving with John Elcann at the island.

Nor am I. :flowers: Tiaras are just too fussy.

Great style. :flowers: And I do believe she may have had trouble deciding on a wedding dress, so she went for them all! Perfect solution! :p If one can afford it.

Did anyone see a picture of Camille Gottlieb at the evening reception. I saw pictures of her leaving for the ceremony with Stephanie and Pauline however in the pictures of the evening reception I have seen Stephanie and Pauline arrived with Alexandra.
