Wonderful pictures and images! thank you for posting them!!
The Princess' dress is very simple, but nicely cut and with slovely hining material...I'm a bit disappointed she disn't wear a tiara, but I suppose like purple_platinum, it's because she was marrying a commoner.
CP Masako's gown was nicet to...she looked better than the last years. And it was a joyful occasion to see both Their Majesties and the Imperial heirs together.
Good luck to the newlyweds!

Japan's Princess Sayako has embraced life as a commoner after saying her official goodbyes to the other members of the royal family.......

such a beautiful dress of masako... so shiny and simple!
it's a pity she wasn't wearing a tiara though...
doesn't masako look extremely elegant in her white dress? :)

I have noticed that every lady has walks behind her man, I guess that it is an imperial house tradition.

Sayako looks so happy in the photos. I wish her and Yoshiki Kuroda the best of luck in their marriage and new life.
I like her dresses which reflect her culture.

BBC news today has video clip reporting about princess Sayako's Wedding. I watched Sayako with her beautiful traditional wedding gown:)
She didn't wear tiara in her wedding but I am quiet happy to see her wearing a grand diamond necklace and tiara in her farewell ceremony to her parents, as I know so far Sayako have been rarely seen wearing a big jewelry or tiara.

Beautiful posts, thank you so much
please DON'T tell me she has to trail 3 steps behind this guy for the rest of her life. what is that about, shouldn't they have entered the room together. Former princess aside, common courtesy for a man to escort a lady

i hope not so too...
i think as it weird for the princess, it is even weirder for mr.kuroda. he looked not really confident, but protocol is still protocol...
i hope after this they'll get a chance to relax and just be with each other.
but really, hopefully we'll still get a chance to see princess sayako & her new husband on family events. :) :)

Purple Platinum and Mandyy - thank you for the lovely photos and links. Being able to observe Nori's transition from imperial daughter to commoner was fascinating. Do you think there will be any translations of the speeches from the reception or the information from the press conference? I would like to read a translation of what was spoken to help fill in the gaps from the photos! A very interesting wedding and the material of the clothing was exquisite. Thanks again.
