I also noticed in the photos that she was wearing little or possibly no makeup.
hmmm...that's true but i think that's always been haya's style. she's never worn that much make-up before....if you look at king abdullah's coronation pics, haya is shown without almost any make-up.

in my opinion, she looks better that way...she has that face which doesn't need make-up anyway...just look at her wedding photos! :flower:

Actually, Haya does usually wear makeup. She has very nice skin, so makeup only enhances her features and makes her skin appear tinted in all of the right places. She never looks overly made up just very vibrant and fresh looking.

However, Haya has definitely worn makeup in the majority of photographs that I have ever seen of her, even candid ones. It is usually clear that she is almost always wearing eyeliner, mascara (especially mascara), lipstick, and blush. In her recent photos (those seen of her before the wedding), Haya wasn't wearing any makeup at all. Her skin was lighter and there was a visible paleness.

I'm sorry ladies but I think you are looking at the wrong person in the photo. Yes, P.Haya looks radiant and beautiful and the dress is absolutely divine. But what about the guy next to her?

After seeing many photos of Sheikh Mo where he usually looks interested, content and generally relaxed-these same four photos are something of an anomaly. For all the discussion about why she did it-I would like to know why he did it?

Any readers from Dubai have a take on this?

Also wam.org.ae (the emirates news agency-government mouthpiece) has not even announced the wedding and S.Mo is definately back in Dubai because he's been attending functions.

Any thoughts?

Hi there everyone,

I don't think that I've been around for a few months now. I just happened to read somewhere that Princess Haya got married and thought that I'd read some posts especially on this website to find out some new info. I have to admit that I haven't read every single post on this thread since there are way too many, but thought that I'd comment on some statements from the few that I did read.

Well first of all there's this big issue going on about the fact that PH decided to marry a man whose already married. Speaking from a religious point of view atleast according to scriptural interpretations, a Muslim man (as is a Jewish man) is allowed to marry up to four wives but only under certain circumstances (from my interpretation) but he obviously is also allowed having one as well. According to the Quran, when the verse allowing a man to marry up to four wives came about, it only came after a war in which many Muslim men had died and there were lots of widows of war left behind. Unless a woman was capable of providing for herself and actually wanted to work, there was no other way that she could provide for herself (its scientifically proven that the majority (not all) of women prefer to be housewives). Therefore the practice was created for social and economic purposes. I believe that this practice is only limited to widows of war "only because" the verse allowing this practice came after a war in which many men died and not earlier or long after.

A lot of individuals do tend to use this practice (marrying multiple wives) in this day and age without going by the "widow of war" limit (which I "personally" don't agree with) but if the woman doesn't mind the fact that her husband to be or husband is married to another woman, then what's the problem? And off course I believe that the man should consult his wife before marrying another woman as well. I think that that would be pretty fair of him to do and at the same time he's respecting his wife's wishes. Calling PH a homewrecker is unjust because surprise-surprise, JUST MAYBE Sheikha Hind actually doesn't have a problem with her husband's actions. Whether she's keeping her "mouth shut" or not, I guess that we'll never really know. We should never assume how a person really feels without proper knowledge of the person's feelings.

As someone earlier stated, the fact that Haya's husband is older than her shouldn't be much of an issue. He is probably somewhat of a father figure for her. As for him being so-called "ugly", sure he's probably the media's "interpretation" of not so wonderful looking but off course the media isn't always right. I believe that God created everyone equally and so-called "good looks" are a manmade ideology for perfection purposes. Lets just remember that while being overweight is such a no-no in today's society, back in the Victorian era for a woman to be overweight was a symbol of royalty and wealth (hierarchy).

Finally, I'd just like to say that as far as the multiple wife issue goes, not everyone around the world goes by "modern" or Western standards and they don't necessarily have to. Hopefully Haya's husband did consult Sheikha Hind before taking Haya's hand in marriage and if he didn't then shame shame! As far as why Haya decided to wed him, it was either for caste reasons or just maybe she does really love him. They do both have a love for horses you know.

Cya :grrr:

Thanks cocacola!

I'm very happy for SM and P.Haya.

My concern stemmed from the wedding photos where he looked very solemn, almost annoyed. But if you have seen them (or him) about and he's a happy chappy-then that's great.

When I used to live in the Emirates, my daughter would run wild in the Boulevard and on time to time throw herself into the billowing folds of his dishdasha. She loved it and he didn't seem to mind in the least. So I've always thought very warmly of him. So you can imagine my horror when I saw these photo and the very happy content Shk Mo of my memory wasn't so happy.

But you have put my mind at ease. Many thanks!

I'm sorry, I know next to nothing about Arab marriage customs, but what does Haya marrying the Sheikh mean for his first wife?

Thanks but I meant a picture of them attending some function together. Since it has been told in the papers she has been his escort lately I thought photos were a possibility but I haven't found any.

Aneca,
I think the pic I attached earlier was taken before their wedding/engagement. Here's another at the Epsom Race Track. I am not sure if the lady behind SM is PH. What do you think?

Epsom Race Track UK - Is the lady behind SM, Princess Haya?

To me it doesn't look like Haya. Maybe that is S.M's first wife. That picture looks like it was taken in England. If that were Haya, I'm sure someone would have seen the picture b4 now.
