I was under the impression that there was going to be a banquet today. Did it happen and no pictures were taken or is it being held tomorrow?

The Aqaba thing is MUCH more lavish than yesterday's event. Do you think that is the plan? To portray a very subdude image in public and then live it up privately?

Stunning Backdrops To Spring's Royal Nuptials

A rose garden attached to the Zahran Palace in Amman was the setting for the official celebration of Crown Prince Hamzah's wedding to Princess Noor. The couple entertained their guests in a lavish evening reception on May 27 followed by a gala dinner the Jordanian capital the next evening.

Amman offers a fascinating blend of the new and the historic, with ancient ruins juxtaposed with modern architecture. The city is also frequently used as a base for visitors keen to explore Jordan's other treasures. Thirty miles south of Amman is Medaba, with its famous array of Byzantine-era mosaic floors. While north of Amman is the ruined city of Jerash, which includes buildings from the Byzantine and early Muslim periods, and the 12th-century Ajloun castle, which provides stunning views of the hilly surroundings.

The country's most famous tourism spot is, of course, the magnificent ancient city of Petra, carved out of towering pink cliffs three hours south of Amman. A UNESCO world heritage site which was used in the final sequence of Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, Petra is a rich mix of ancient tombs, temples, streets and baths. Other must-see spots are the Wadi Rum desert region where Lawrence Of Arabia was filmed, and the Siq narrow gorge, bordered by dramatic 150-metre-high cliffs.

Over 2,000 guests, including Prince Andrew, Spanish Crown Prince Felipe and his new bride Princess Letizia, attended a lavish celebration in Amman on May 27 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Hamzah of Jordan

A trip to the Dead Sea offers unforgettable views as well as the chance to visit the region's famous spas

I think that for security reasons it is easier to have a vibrant party in aqaba, as the palace in aqaba is in a compound, whereas zahran palace is in the middle of amman. plus the aqaba party is a party rather than a reception, no need to invite all the old sheikhs etc just the beautiful people, and it certainly doesn't look private as it looks like half of amman is there.

Hamzah looked much cuter in the Official ceremony,he looks in those pictures as if he hasn't slept all night, lmao,I wonder why!
Well Noor wore some makeup , but her dress was very simple. I like that. Mabrouk!

P. Noor is very pretty. Possibly the prettiest woman in the family. And she looks radiant! Good for her!

I don't know about the prettiest, but she is pretty. She has plenty of competition from her cousins/sister-in-laws...how does that work?

Also, in Aqaba, the JRF is about as far away from the main population center as they can get and still be in Jordan, so any excess is less observable.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! Wish them all the luck in life.

I was just wondering, weren't there official photos like only the newly married couple without the guests?

I have a question about wedding protocol. I noticed in the photos of the family, KA and QR stand next to CP Hamzah and P Noor, while QN, the mother of the groom, stands further away from her son than either KA and QR. Is this the way it's done in Jordan? The reason I'm asking is because it looks disrespectful to QN to me. In my country, it's the immediate family's show to run, with half brothers and sister's in law taking a back seat to immediate nuclear family members. So I'm curious about this. Is it a dis to QN, or am I just learning something new about Jordanian culture?

Thanks.
