The 11 days wedding festival begins today with the Majlis Istiadat Bersuruh Diraja or Royal marriage proposal ceremony.

A delegation from the groom will be visiting the bride's family to declare the 31-year-old prince’s intention to marry 22-year-old Dk Raabiatul Adawiyyah.

The royal wedding festivities for His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Dk Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pg Hj Bolkiah continued with the Majlis Istiadat Berbedak Pengantin Diraja at the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.

Immersed in culture and tradition, the Majlis Istiadat Berbedak or Royal Powdering Ceremony saw members of the royal family and the bride’s family take turns applying coloured powder and scented oil onto the palms of the couple.

Thank you for the video links. I remember watching similar videos of the bride and groom-to-be before the crown prince got married.
I love the red traditional dress brides wear for the powdering ceremony.
Is Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah from a prominent family in Brunei?
Can't wait for the other ceremonies and the magnificent dresses and jewellery the bride will be wearing.

So they are officially married now?
Congrats to them!

Thanks for photos!
As expected, the wedding was grand. I liked vividness of clothes worn by ladies. Princess Zara Salim looked absolutely beautiful in an icy pink outfit.

Was April 12 the date of the actual wedding, or "just" one of the other ceremonies?

Was April 12 the date of the actual wedding, or "just" one of the other ceremonies?

The nikah (religious marriage contract/solemnisation ceremony) took place on April 9 so according to Islamic law, the couple were married. Here's an article with pictures: Royal marriage solemnised
And here's a picture gallery
These are only pictures of the prince. The bride is not pictured (her nikah presumably took place at her house)

The bersanding or sitting-in ceremony took place on April 12, during which the couple were officially and publicly presented as man and wife: Picture gallery
Also on April 12, the royal banquet took place. Here's an article with video: The Royal wedding banquet: a night of splendour

This is a very interesting article:

Royal designer talks couture
. . .YAM Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pg Hj Bolkiah’s gold-embroidered ensemble was designed by none other than renowned Malaysian designer Dato Bernard Chandran, couturier to the Brunei royal family for 19 years. Chandran counts singers Rihanna and Lady Gaga among his clients, as well as the Malaysian royal family.

I just came across this stunning photo of three of the Malaysian guests during the banquet, (L-R)Sultanah Nur Zahirah of Terengganu, Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang and Sultanah Zara of Perak: Royal selfie

quit splendid wedding ceremony;all those wedding traditions in Brunei are intersting
thanks you all for the links.

I think it still misses one last ceremony. I think its the ceremony after the wedding celebrations, where the bride goes in all red. Does it have to do with the consumation of marriage?

Congratulations to the couple... Has someone the picture oft the bride
