OK. I know Univision will be broadcasting the Spanish royal wedding live on television. Can someone who knows Spanish please tell me if Univision will be broadcasting the wedding live over the internet?

Here's the website.

Link: Univision
I contacted a friend of mine and she said that it would not be online. She also said that the site sometimes has problems. I mean going from one page to another so if that happens to anybody, do not fret.

Maybe I've missed a post somewhere that tells me the answer to this - but have we figured out if any English-speaking networks will be broadcasting this on Saturday? I'm sure CNN will mention it like they did with Denmark last week, but what about a full broadcast? BBC perhaps? SiTV? Any clues?
Thanks!

No, you can check the various newscasts but there will be no English language stations carrying the ceremonies. Maybe CNN would have a look in at some point but that´s about it.

I know TVE would broadcast the whole wedding event because it even featured the royal wedding in Denmark how much more when it is in Spain. The only problem is that it is Spanish. Nevertheless, we already know the faces of some royals who would be showing up.

for more information, just log on to http://www.casareal.es/boda/

The problem is it's in Spanish so those who don't understand Spanish, just try hard to grasp on something.

I'm oretty sure Victoria will be one of the flower girls, but will all the boys be pageboys as well? How many pageboys are usually there?

Also, I get mixed up with the terms. Do you say pageboy or ring bearer, and do you say flower girls or is there another term for it? Thanks in advance! :flower:

a mantilla is some kind of veil... a very typical spanish piece... you'll see lots of them wore by the spanish aristocrats. it's usually a piece that you use in important events. some months ago sofia wore one at the reception of the parents of spanish soldiers who were killed in irak.

The mantilla was mentioned in this thread, and I google searched for it and once found, it reminded me a lot of Crown Princess Mary's wedding veil.

Here's a link of the origins of the mantilla. Here are some bridal mantillas, and some more.

Doesn't it remind you of CP Mary's wedding veil???

A mantilla would be nice for Letizia but if she does wear it, hopefully it won't look like Mary's veil.

I think black is usual for going to church (I think some older Spanish ladies wear mantillas to church), but I think it can also be white or other colours really, like the flamenco dancers have it in different colours.

What about the veil Christina wore for her wedding? I really love it. Was that the same one her mother wore? If so, maybe Letizia will wear it.

As I said on the Denmark wedding page, living in US we get very little about the European royals. If anyone in Spain could pick up some magazine, books, postcards, DVD about the Spanish wedding I would appreciate it and reimburse you, and you would have my everlasting gratefulness (and you will get much praise on this website.&#33 :flower:

Why wouldn't there be a committee? It's a Crown Princely wedding with a guest list of 1000+. It would be unreasonable to expect Letizia, Felipe, the Queen and their assistants/ladies in waiting to do all the work for this wedding from co-ordinating schedules of guest arrivals and departures, security, the dress, the menu, the various events, dresses, decorating the church and reception, transportation (cars and carriages, etc.), tiaras and jewellery, entertainment, and everything else that goes along with a wedding by themselves.

Ah, I guess I thought of it being done by a planner, ie one person in charge.

There probably is a wedding planner who oversees everything, but still unreasonable to expect one person to do all the work. There is a lot of work in co-ordinating a "regular" wedding with a guest list of 125 people. Imagine a royal wedding with 1000+ people who have security details of their own and which will be photographed and watched the world over.

I second Lady Jean's request for stuff related to the wedding. I will recompense any one kind enough to pick up magazines, etc regarding the Spanish and/or Danish weddings. Not too much attention seems to be paid to the nuptials here Stateside.

Well, do your best and seek out a Borders or Barnes and Noble and try to find Hello or Point de Vue or Hola. They should have them.
