Sorry to say this, but I hate her wedding dress. I hope it was winter, cuz it looks like one of those Chrismassy type outfits.

the outfit doesn't take my fancy, but to be objective, perhaps it was the style or fashion of that time...although her hair remains me alittle of the princess in star wars movie!

Actually the dress isn't so bad, if you have the fur removed from the dress. Otherwise, I think the dress looks very simple and elegant. The bride looked radiant and you can see the happiness and love on her face.
Truly a great match!!!

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures, Catherine!
And to whoever asked if their wedding was in winter- yup, they got married in February of 1981. On Valentine's Day, I believe.

Thanks for the group picture. I don't recognize everyone in the picture. Are there any pictures of MT's family.
I love her dress (simple and elegant). MT's dress is a big difference from Di's (which I hate).

i think MT has always been chubby although i wouldn't call her quite chubby at her wedding day she looks fine...i think she didn't think it was necessary to be the stick thin bride that are popular

There have been some great pictures posted in this thread -- but is there any information on the details of the wedding? Who designed Maria Teresa's dress, the diademe she wore, the flowers she carried, her attendants, etc.

I have looked for info about the wedding details, but have not been able to find much. I do know that the diadem is called the Congo Diamond Tiara; it was originally a wedding gift to Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte from the then-Belgian colony of Congo. It was later worn by her daughters Princess Margaretha and Princess Marie-Astrid on their wedding days, as well as Maria-Theresa on hers.
