It was a wonderful wedding and everything was very Swedish (in a good way) A quite short church servise (a "normal" wedding is about 40-45 min) and the archbishops marriage sermon was v good and from Rom 12:9-18 ( Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. )
But I must confess Im a little disappointed because I was expecting more from mr Engsheden. The dress was OK (and much better than Silvias wedding dress) but I think longer sleeves is needed to get the real regal look...
And when it comes to the tiara and the hair, she was just a bad copy of her mother at the wedding 1976
Don't misunderstand me...Im a big fan of the cameo tiara and I think that piece is perfect as a wedding crown, but it suites her mother much better. The way Victoria wore it, it resembled of a chef hat ... And I think she would have looked much better in a softer hairstyle...
But the speeches at the dinner.... wow... soooo gooood! The King was so sweet when he spoke to and gave the rose to Silvia! ( and then he said what he was expected to say). Mr Westlings speech was brilliant and Prince Daniel stole everybodys heart with his speech!

What a wonderfull wedding.
I loved to see the way they interact. They are a really charming couple.
Of all the crown princesses dresses of recent years, Victoria's dress reminded me the most of Maxima's dress: Simple and regal.

The situation between Carina and Gustav and Albert and Charlene is completely different.

That was the most elegant and beautiful wedding! Victoria looked absolutely breathtaking. Her dress was simple in design, but very classy and regal. Very Victoria IMO. The cameo tiara is beyond stunning and I think was the perfect choice for her. I love the elegant way she wore the lace train with the tiara. I loved everything about this wedding, and IMO it will go down as one of the most beautiful cermonies I have seen. Victoria's glowing face, gentle touches and gestures towards Daniel, and the obvious love and deep commitement between the two of them made the day truly magical. I have never seen a Royal couple display so much happiness and be so open with their love and affection. I had tears in my eyes constantly.
Sweden, you should be proud of this day and of your Crown Princess who is so very warm hearted and caring. Although the expense may rankle many, this historical event showcased Sweden in a very special way. We all fell in love with your Crown Princess who is so obviously a remarkable woman. She will make a wonderful Queen some day. That wonderful warmth and love she exudes will be a tremendous assit to the people of Sweden.

I was gone all weekend away from TV/internet so I didn't get to see the live happenings. Victoria looked absolutely stunning and after all the kerfluffle over the King escorting her to the altar I have to say that was such a sweet moment for them, probably my favorite. Looks like Daniel has really endeared himself to the whole royal family and the Swedish people in general. I hope they have a great relaxing honeymoon and a long happy life together!

He doesn't usually go to weddings out of his country. Queen Elizabeth II hasn't attended any for years outside of her country.

I didn't think the Queen would've gone to Victoria's wedding, but I certainly thought she would've sent more than just Edward and Sophie. I find that...kind of odd for some reason. I absolutely LOVED Daniel's speech! I wanted to cry! Victoria made a good choice. I wish them nothing but the best.
Congratulations to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden!

This is going to sound strange...but I hope no one finds out where they went until they get back. They deserve some good quiet private time together. I would hate for that to be spoiled because someone spilled the beans and the press found them out.

Yes I agree with you, especially the white tulle that was missing from her skirt's left part! Maybe she thought that no one will be dressed alike, so she will out-shown them all!

I agree totally! While it would be nice to have some pictures they have earned this time together - AND ALONE! Their whole future will be in the public spotlight.

Somewhere I read way back in this thread that while she was dressing there was an accident and her dress was torn beyond quick repair. What she wore was a "quick fix". I just can't believe, though, that she hadn't brought along a backup outfit just for this sort of emergency!
