Does anyone know who designed Queen Beatrix's wedding dress? At the Glittering Royal Events MB, it was mentioned that Queen Beatrix helped to design her own dress (but with who?) because she couldn't find any dresses that she liked.

Also, can anyone tell me who Beatrix's attendants, page boys and flower girls were?

From what I have read on this subject, Queen Beatrix designed her dress with the help of Mrs. Caroline Bergé-Farwick of Maison Linette in Den Bosch. The design of the tiara (Diamond and Pearl Ornate Tiara) worn by Princess Beatrix was woven into the front of the skirt and into the train, which was 5 meters long and 2 meters wide.

The bridesmaids were Princess Christina of The Netherlands (bride's sister), Lady Elizabeth Anson, Joanna Elizabeth Roëll and Princess Christina of Sweden.

The page boys were Joachim Jencquel and Markus von Oeynhausen-Sierstorpff.

The flower girls were Daphne Stewart Clark and Carolijn Alting von Geusau.

The page boys and flower girls were watched over by Eugénie Mary Loudon and Christina von Amsberg.

Prince Michael of Kent and Sir Angus Ogilvy also attended.

Thanks for the great pictures everyone!:)

For those who are interested, the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision has digitally restored some footage from Beatrix & Claus's wedding.

They have also done the same for Juliana, Margriet and Irene's weddings.

They are quite fun to watch - everyone is so young, in love and less "polished" then they are today!

It is all in Dutch of course, but it is pretty easy to figure out what is going on.

The videos can be found at http://www.beeldengeluid.nl/templat...tie&artid=12585

Thanks for the tip Squidy! :)

However, I don't read any Dutch and I was wondering if you might be able to help me navigate this site. Where do I go for the videos exactly? I clicked on something but it seemed to be only a screen cap of Beatrix and Claus' wedding.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry Alexandria. I should have explained things better. :o

On the right side of the main page, there is a heading, called "Fragmenten". Under that there are various pictures of Juliana, Beatrix, etc. Within each group you can pick whether you wish to view using Real Player or Windows Media Player. Then just select "breed" or "smal".

Hopefully, that should work. Enjoy!:)

Although, this is not the place for this, I thought I should let everyone know that Beeld en Geluid also has wonderful videos of Beatrix's first public apperance and baptism. Also, Willem Alexander's first apperance, photo session and baptism.

I wasn't sure where to post this (because there is already a thread about hearing the royals speak), but I thought it was very appropriate for here since it's the whole Dutch RF speaking ENGLISH at the engagement of Princess Beatrix and Claus. They're SO sweet with each other!!! :o I already posted this in the Dutch section, but I thought maybe those who frequent the wedding section might enjoy it too.

Anyhoo, Queen Juliana, Prince Bernhard, Princess Beatrix, and Claus all speak English (Beatrix and Bernhard are flawless).

At the end of the text in the middle section, there is a video from BBC. Just click on the eye. The first video is an interview with the family but it's in Dutch (in case anyone is interested in that too).
