I am not positive, but I think before his marriage he was the wealthiest single man in Denmark. It was either the wealthiest single man or the wealthiest, single, aristocratic man. Somebody from Denmark can probably correct this information if it's wrong.

I believe that he is the Count Wendell, thus she is Countess Wendell. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I would love to know what the name is of the piece of musci Mary walked down the aisle with her father too?

And the name of the first waltz?

Thanks

the song mary walked down the aisle to is "Zadok the Priest by Handel" It is normally used for British royal weddings and im puzzled as to why the Danes used it

Oh thanks for that, I want to download it to my ipod.

Actually it is used for Britain's Coronations, not weddings. I was quite puzzled also as to why Danish Court allowed it to be used at this wedding.

Webcast of the wedding

I didn't get to see Frederik and Mary's wedding on TV (I was still living in the United States at the time). Does anyone know where I might be able to see a recorded webcast or video clip?

Thanks :)

You can see the wedding on NRK(Norwegian) I did see a little of it on Saturday and it was just soooo beautiful! You have to be register.

How to register is posted of Norwegianne in this thread: How to register to NRK; http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4841

to go to the videos go here http://go.nrk.no/ego/2100/http://www7.nrk.no/nrkplayer/default.aspx?Hovedkategori_id=2 or
http://www.nrk.no/netttv. And go to "Kongehus" and then "Kronprins brullup i Danmark" (you can also see the wedding of Charles & Camilla and Felipe & Letizia "Kronprins bryllup i Spania")

I hope you can see it! ;)

http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=68375 It would be a nicer gesture from Frederick if he gives a hand to help his bride enter the carriage:eek:.

Normally I think Frederik is quite considerate, but I have to agree on this one, and the dress would have made it even more difficult to step up, getting into a carriage would make you have to step up higher than you would for a car.

Maby the reason for it is that CP Mary loves this song and that it remindes her of her late mother Henrietta.

Hi Australian! Maybe personal preference on mary's side. Oh and also the English and Danish royal family as you know are related especially way of Tzaritsa Marie of Russia (formerly Princess Dagma of Denmark Tzar Nicholaiovich II Mother) her sister was married to the reigning English Monarch of the Time. :flowers: Just a guess;)

The hair of the bridemaids is realy awful

I agree with you, I don't think the bee hive suited anyone except for Mary on this occasion because it was camoflauged with her Tiara and veil!

It is a classic piece of music and everyone can play it for his wedding, funeral or whatever he like. The british Court doesn't own it. So why Frederik and Mary shouldn't be allowed to play it at their wedding? Only because it had be used at british coronations it can't only be played at this occassions. For excample the melody of the hymn of the oranier is in Germany a very common Christmas song. You can here it in every church and no one says you can't sing it because it is the hymn of the oranier.

^ I LOVE "Zadok" and even though the words don't fit a wedding, the music is beautiful and the voice of the choir gives me a chill every time I hear it. Everytime. I also loved the music Fred and Joachim walked in on. I think that would be a nice song to march in on.

I don't think anyone "owns" a song, so if the happy couple liked it, then that's fine by me. :D
