Not a professional photoshopper but I just try:flowers:

Diamond Lozenge: https://imgur.com/a/KKOmU

Not sure how should I place it so I tried two vers. (btw I think of Mette-Marit's wedding tiara)

Teck Circle: https://imgur.com/a/3pqbT

Reference to Queen Mother's style (more like a halo) (originally what I expect is more like a circlet, but I find it's too difficult to photoshop so I give up, maybe next time:lol:)

btw: Meghan you better develop your tiara hair quickly, so difficult to find a suitable look:bang:

That is a great job!! Will you photoshop the Strathmore Rose so we can see what that would look like?

texankitcat remember too...we don't know what is in those vaults unseen in decades.

I wish someone would write a book that would show everything in those vaults--if they could get permission. That would be wonderful to see.

I think the tiara Sophie got is hideous!

That is why I hope one is purchased for Meghan at auction.
Because all of the nicer tiaras are either those the Queen will not loan,or else in the possession of somebody else.

Who would pay for a tiara purchased at an auction? Prince Harry or Prince Charles?

Ah perhaps someone should of ummm helped Edward

LaRae

I agree!!! Hopefully, if Harry designs a tiara for Meghan, it will probably look good given his success designing her engagement ring.

Either one of them...and really Meghan has her own money too she could use if she wanted to buy it for herself.

I would guess he would consult Meghan about a tiara design.

I agree...but getting access/permission might be tough.

Wasn't there a book called 'The Queen's Jewels: The Personal Collection' by Leslie Field that came out several years ago and did just that? It was authorised and had the cooperation of BP.

Designing a 3 stone ring is a doddle in comparison to designing a decent Tiara. The DoE {who designed a more than competent bracelet for his Bride} may have been up to it, and the Prince Consort { who designed several wonderful Tiara's for Queen Victoria} certainly was. I think it unlikely that Harry has the know-how or 'flair', but FEW professional jewel houses have either, now. [look at Leti's Ansorena MESS].

Best to buy an antique [from an era where the practicalities were properly understood} and when proper 'decorative' design was rigorously taught [over MANY years] to apprentices by masters in their field.

Indeed :flowers: Though 1987, 'several years ago' a small stretch ?

Absolutely agree. Not everyone can design jewelry, and tiaras have a level of intricacy and detail that an average Joe would likely not understand. There are likely many actual jewelers who wouldn't know how to design a tiara (and by that I mean a non-modern tiara).

Best to either:
1. go to auction and buy an old tiara
2. find a competent jeweler who can design a beautiful tiara
3. use something like a necklace that easily can be converted, with a design that works for a tiara

So call me crazy... but I don't consider it impossible that Meghan might wear the Spencer Tiara for her wedding.

Incredibly unlikely? Yes. But not impossible. I noticed in the engagement interview that she specifically mentioned that she and Harry had been spending time with the Spencer side of the family. Given that, I could see Earl Spencer offering the use of the tiara for her wedding in honor of Harry's mother.

I consider it unlikely because I'm not sure the royal family would want to give any spotlight to Earl Spencer, and consider it far more likely that she'll use one from the Queen's collection- maybe one associated with the Queen Mother, like Kate did.

But I wouldn't be totally shocked and I don't consider it impossible that the Spencer Tiara might make an appearance.

Hmmmm...I wouldn’t place too much emphasis on her visiting the Spencer’s. Kate would have also spent time the Spencer’s before marriage, and visited Diana’s grave with William. We just didn’thear about it. All the Spencer’s were invited to Williams wedding, so whatever bad feelings that existed from Diana’s death have been put aside for these special events.

The most important thing to remember is that the Spencer tiara has significant history and is reserved for the present Earl’s wife and children. He was gracious in allowing Diana to use the tiara during her marriage as Princess of Wales and she is most associated with it, but it has always belonged at Althorp.

I know there are many who would love to see Meghan in one the Queen’s most cherished tiaras or Diana’s family tiara but reality is reality. These families barely know Meghan and although I am sure they are thrilled and happy for the couple, there is nothing I can think of that would encite either side to loaning these most symbolic and important tiaras to Meghan.

I think using one of the Royal tiaras would be symbolic of the BRF family welcoming Meghan into the family. If she wore the Spencer tiara, the tabloid stories would say Harry had to go to his uncle for a tiara for Meghan to wear for their wedding because his grandmother wouldn't loan her one and his father wouldn't buy her one.

And that is exactly how it would play out.

If they want to buy one , then Bentley and Skinner have some very nice ones which would set you back about £42,000 .

The first one looks like a prom or a tiara that a common bride could buy from a bridal store. There isn't any presence to it. Would be lost under a veil.

Not that I am that fond of the look, but the only ones they have on auction which really have any presence

I'm not a fan of the Sotheby's either...or the other ones at Bentley & Skinner. Only a couple of them caught my eye.

Of course who knows what's out there via private sales.

LaRae

Gosh yes , that is the ones that haven't been broken up or used to make other pieces.

I agree, I didn't really like any. But those were really the only ones I found currently up for auction that really had any presence. This isn't just going to be her wedding tiara, she will likely wear the tiara for any event in the near future requiring one. Something tiny and dainty isn't going to do it for those.

Hopefully they either hit the family vaults, or they find something good in a private sale.

But wow do I love that opal ring. Its stunning.

It appears Meghan likes opals (she had opal earrings on this week) ...my birthstone is opal so I tend to like them...I've never seen on like that...love it.

I am hoping she wears a BRF tiara. Something we haven't seen in decades would be a nice surprise!

Which brings us back to which one ? Much as I am enjoying this discussion, it's after midnight here , and therefore my bedtime !!!.

I shall look forward to reading the rest of the thread later.:flowers::flowers:

Hmmm, was hoping for the Spencer but didnt know all the "rules" Their may be something that can be made from other pieces in Diana's collection. Never really know the extent of Royal jewel collections!

That's the kicker...we don't know what is in the vaults! All we can do is guess about the known ones that aren't being worn by any of the other BRF ladies or the ones the Queen uses. So..not many options, 2 or 3.

The Spencer tiara belongs to the Spencer family. Earl Spencer is the owner, his wife and daughters can wear that. The earls wive(s) have worn it when they married into the Spencer family.

Meghan is marrying into the Mountbatten-Windsor family. She will either wear a BRF tiara (like Kate did) or the Queen (or Charles) will have one made for her and give it to her as a gift.

Nicely done.

Don't think she will wear a tiara, she's a divorceé, so no white wedding dress nor tiara, like Camilla, we already got a message with the wedding venue

The days wear divorcees cant wear white are Long over. :ermm:

The only message we got from the venue is he is a grandson of the monarch and it is a smaller wedding.

Camilla didn't wear a tiara because they had a civil wedding. There was no formal service. As an older bride, it wasn't odd she didn't wear a traditional dress. And a wedding at a civil registrar's office, she wasn't going to have a tiara.

That antiquated custom left the stage a long time ago. This is a religious wedding and she is not only entitled to wear white but a tiara too! Camilla and Charles’ wedding was between an older couple who had committed adulty while married to other people. Completely different situation.

I voted for Queen Mary's filigree tiara. Bandeau style tiaras suit Meghan's style. For a grander event like a state visit I see Meghan in the Persian Turquoise parure that the queen puts on permanent loan.

The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor: Tiara Thursday: The Modern Sapphire Tiara

This is a tiara I really like and it would be so cool to see Meghan wear it ...very unlikely for a wedding...and perhaps never since it seems to be a 'Queen' tiara, at least for now.

There's a few others she would look smashing in as well.

LaRae

LaRae, I love that tiara but then sapphires are my favorite gem stones. It is a substantial tiara and you are right it wouldn’t be appropriate for a wedding. To be honest I have always seen that tiara for Kate since she has a few of Diana’s sapphires and her ring. Jmo of course.
