I'm hoping it will be something made from one of Diana's diamond and sapphire sets of jewelry. But if not, then I wonder if it might not be the Lotus/Papyrus. Since it seems Kate is now using the Lovers Knot as her diamond and pearl option.

Ehmagawd, she wore it here? I didn't even realise. I'm guessing this was for CHOGM?

I'm surprised to hear that QEII, according to Tilia C, has worn Queen Mary's Fringe tiara only three times. I was under the impression it was one of her usual tiaras in her younger years.

:previous: I thought so too MBruno. I suppose because there are a couple fringe tiaras it's easy to forget and think they're all the same one.

Re. Queen Mary's fringe:QEII has worn it only three times
- her wedding
- Visit to Trinidad and Tobago in 2009
- Official portrait for New Zealand in connection with her diamond jubilee

Not often, is it? Certainly not her most favourite tiara. But more appreciated than the 5-aquamarine tiara she lends now to Sophie.

Queen Mum has only worn it frequently while she was the Queen Consort. She stopped wearing it in the early 1950s, and I don't think that she wore it after her daughter's accession.

I have a feeling that we won't see this one on Meghan, given that it's a much more important jewel than the one her daughter-in-law Sophie got many years of hard work and faithful service.
Well it looks like the Halo isn't Catherine's even if she did wear it for her her wedding.

If my memory serves me right (and that is a big caveat!), I have seen portraits of HM in the Fringe tiara and necklace, in a light blue dress, from the early 1990s. So I don't agree that it has only been worn thrice by HM.

Do we know if the emerald choker/bandeau of the late princess of Wales is now with prince Harry? It could be an option, though coloured tiaras at royal weddings are not common.

The diamond and emerald choker will be back with HM. It was a part of the Delhi Durbar suite, another emerald and diamond necklace from which HM uses.

Are you sure that wasn't the kokoshnik tiara? They are similar. In 2002 she wore it with a light blue dress in Jamaica, i think.

Nope! Can tell Kokoshnik from QM's Fringe.

Which fringe tiara is Queen Elizabeth II wearing here ? It looks like a fairly recent picture .

I think that if she wears a tiara, it will be the Spencer tiara, like Diana. No reason, just a wild guess! She has Diana's diamonds in her ring. after all.

My hope is that Meghan wears something that has been repurposed, much the same as the Countess of Wessex. I'm sure there is something amazing that could be used. It doesn't have to be a tiara. I would be happy with any type of hair jewelry.

She won't be wearing the Spencer tiara. That is reserved for the women of the Spencer family or those marrying into the Spencer family.

Meghan is marrying into the Mountbatten-Windsor family. If she wears a tiara it will be one of the BRF tiaras or a new one or a existing tiara bought for her.

Sophie's wedding tiara was a new one designed for her by Prince Edward.

Oh right...I forget that they used existing pieces!

I would like to see an Edwardian or Victorian tiara purchased for Meghan. She would have her very own tiara.

After seeing all the innovations in the order of service for the wedding, I now think that Meghan might not wear a tiara after all although that is highly unlikely.

Then he has a lot to answer for, is all I'm saying.

Yeah, poor Sophie. That thing looked like a cheap Claire's accessory. Edward's jewelry designs also left a lot to be desired.

I'm also a little scared she doesn't wear one to be honest. *fingers and toes crossed*

Not sure what the order of service and invitations are 'saying' to indicate no tiara?

There were many innovations in the service to make it different or unconventional. including Meghan walking down the aisle mostly alone and no give away. She could choose to be different also by wearing a modern floral arrangement on her hair rather than a diamond tiara.

I still think she will wear a tiara though. I am just saying there have been lots of surprises in the service ( liturgy, music, etc.), so I am not ruling anything out.

My reason for being reserved about the possibility of her wearing one is because she is so, SO minimalist when it comes to jewelry 90% of the time. I feel like her natural inclination would be towards something like the Cartier bandeau or hair jewels. I'm just hoping she deviates from her usual modern minialism a bit tomorrow. Weddings call for a little something extra.

There isn't anything 'modern' about floral headpieces. Yes there are modern brides who wear them. But because they are 'boho chic'. There is nothing about Meghan or her style that screams 'boho chic' bride, even if she could pull it off in a church.

Now if you were going to suggest she wear some ornaments in her hair like Charlene, that is more believable. But still hardly likely. This is her introduction as a princess. And she will need a tiara for future events.

Other then not being given away, there is nothing untraditional about their wedding liturgy. Its actually against Anglican rules not to use one of their traditional liturgies. The music shows they have some American influence on the wedding. And many American brides, even commoners marrying commoners, wear tiaras.

Honestly, after a certain age, floral arrangements in the hair just look silly. More silly than a floral patterned tiara. While Meghan looks good for her age, she's past THAT age.

Agreed. The floral look really only suits a boho wedding, and that really suits a younger bride. At Meghan's age (and I am her age), flowers only should be on the heads of bridesmaids if at all.

Yes! Little girls would look super adorable in there. And they'd probably enjoy that too!

I would rather see her with sans tiara than in flowers. (of course tiara is the best option.
