I want something along the lines of Crown Princess Victoria's dress for Meghan- I think she would look fantastic in those very simple, classic lines. Her style seems to be simple and tailored.

I don't see Meghan wearing a dress like Victoria's. I think she will go for a more modern design, with a short trail for example.

I think we can safely say it won't be 'strapless' [thank Heavens]..

It'll be a classic dress with a modern twist.

I think she would look great in something like Charlotte Wellesley wore for her wedding.

It looked quite grand. I love the creamy colour of the dress and the green shoes whose colour was reflected in the bouquet and also in the dresses of the flowergirls I think.

I LOVE the green shoes!!!

She can probably pull off almost any style. However I think she will go for sleek/elegant overall.

Since it appears it will be a Church wedding (based on the Archbishop of Cant. comments) it will also have to fit within those parameters too.

I LOVE #46 but with a higher neckline.

Classic with a modern twist would be MY choice but I've seen plenty of brides wearing dresses that were anything but classic and stylish. It's like they're out to make a lasting statement along the lines of What WAS she wearing?!" :)

Which is what 99.9% of Brides aim for surely ?

I agree with the idea that Meghan's dress will be classy, simple yet very elegant. Nothing over the top. I'm also going to predict that when the details are announced about the dress, it will be stated that it is Meghan's own design that has been created for her. Just got that feeling.

RALF AND RUSSO!! Please, Meghan, go with Ralph and Russo. Beautiful gowns that are unique, but grand. Perfect for Meghan!

OMG yes. They would make an incredible gown for her.

I hope we get to see her wear a reception gown like Kate did.

I would love if Sarah Burton designs her gown.

Has her designer friend Misha Nonoo done any gowns?

Yes she has.

Now to see if she pics an American, Canadian or English designer.

I had a look at the Ralph & Russo Bridal gowns, and they seem to me almost wilfully bizarre.. far more about 'the dress' than about the Woman wearing it..
Meghan seems a far more assured 'dresser' than a Woman who'd go for that...

I can't see her wearing a R&R dress. It doesn't even seem to suit her style. I don't think it's the look she will go for at a royal wedding either.

I looked earlier...perhaps you can point out what ones you think would work FM?

Look at their 2016 Spring Haute Couture line. Several of the gowns are absolutely stunning and perfect for a royal wedding.

Ralph & Russo Haute Couture Spring 2016 Runway - theFashionSpot

the most recent collection on the R&R website, though, seems much less...grounded in this world.

In that interview, Meghan said she liked clean, simple lines, but she also named a pair of designers whose websites currently show mostly ethereal, boho sorts of things with layer-upon-layer of fluff and lace. Depending on what they had out when she made that comment, they've either changed their style or she likes a pretty wide range of styles. I'm not really sure what to expect from her.

I'm sure she's having a dress designed for her so whoever it is will certainly take into account the restrictions or parameters they need to use for a dress that will work for a BRF wedding.

Do you believe that Meghan will select an unknown designer like Lady Diana Spencer did?

I love that first gown. Wouldn't mind at all seeing Meghan in something similar.

I don't really have any particular designer or style in mind. I just hope to see her in something really elegant with a bit of flair/grandness.

Yes tweaks will need to be made. I mean, Kate's dress was McQueen, but the House was known for its dramatic clothing and Kate pared a gown from that.

Meghan has a lot of natural charisma and charm and can pull off a sleek but dramatic gown with tweaks from the likes of R&R who are compared to old school McQueen in many circles.

Some examples of R&R that can work with tweaks. Meghan mentions Elie Saab as a favorite and these gowns have similar details to ES.

I would love if she wore a gown like Mette Marit, Maxima, Mathilde, Stephanie, or Victoria.

Those are gorgeous, all of them, though I especially like the first on the list. :flowers:

I agree that Meghan will go simple and classic, a la Charlene of Monaco, or Mette-Marit of Norway.

I hope we get to see her wear a reception gown like Kate did.

I seriously hope not. There will be enough comparisons between Kate and Meghan without Meghan wearing the same designer on her wedding day. It will give way to a whole 'who did it better' for way too long to come.

I too think she will go with clean lines and very little to no amount of lace or applications. Something pleated perhaps, with emphasis on the back rather than the front. Perhaps something like what CP Mette-Marit wore. Clean but with an understated drama.

Yes, I love some of these suggestions and would be great to see similar.

I love the whole idea of a streamline front and a wow back. A way to draw attention instead of simply a huge train, as she walks down the aisle.

Agree with Lady Nimue, this is my favorite
