Belgium's Prince Lorenz, Princess Astrid, Queen Fabiola, Queen Paola,
King Albert II and Crown Prince Philippe, Princess Mathilde, Princess
Claire, Princess Louise, Prince Laurent and Princess Lea attend a mass
in memory of former members of the royal family at the Notre Dame
de Laeken church in Brussels February 23, 2010.

At the German TV boulevard magazine "leuteheute" was a report today about the mass. And if my eyes were right, I saw in the second row either Princess Esmeralda of Belgium or Princess Margarethe of Luxemburg, Princess of Liechtenstein. I tried to post a link about this report, but I haven't found one. Can someone identify who I mean, if someone also have seen the report?

I believe princess Marie-Astrid was also escorted by a son and a daughter.

Prince Léa seemed moved. Nice that her children were with her and that princess Esmeralda was able to attend too!

The Queen looked very elegant today.

Archduchess Marie-Astrid's daughter Marie Christine attended without her husband and a son attended, but I have forgotten his name, I apologize. Princess Lea did appear very moved and I can understand because she and her family are really still grieving.

That's a nice dark blue dress the Queen was wearing at yesterday's reception -especially with those vertical stripes. And she looks at least a bit more relaxed than the day before at the mass where she seemed to be rather stressed (as compared to the princesses Astrid, Mathilde and Claire)...

Thanks for photos!
Based on the photos, it is obvious that the Belgian royal family and representatives of the EU enjoyed the reception. The Belgian royals masterfully add a touch of informality to receptions, which facilitates a friendly communication and allows both parties to be comfortable as well as have memorable experience.

Queen Fabiola and Princess Mathilde pictured at the polling station,
during the Federal Election Day, Sunday 13 June 2010 in Laeken,
in Brussels. Prince Philippe is in Shangai for the Belgian day at the
World Expo.

I alway like seeing these two together :)

Prince Philippe was in Shangai with no belgian Ministers at all...

I always thought, that royals had to be political neutral. But now I saw pictures of the Belgium Royal Family voting. Are they allowed to do it?

They are oblidged to. If they don't vote they will be fined just like the rest of the country. I am not sure about the king and queen though.

I've just read in another thread that the King and Queen don't vote.

If you don't vote in Belgium you are fined?? How much? So prince Amedeo will be fined?

Maybe prince Amedeo gave permission to someone else to vote for him (if you have a good reason like you are staying in another country and you can not come to Belgium, or if you are in the hospital,... you can do that) or he voted by mail (you sent your letter with your vote with the post).
I think he did that and than he won't get a fine.

I've just read in another thread that the King and Queen don't vote.

The king and queen are the only members of the royal family who do not vote because as head of state the king is assumed to be neutral and superior to the politicians.

Lovely to see the sisters shopping, and in matching outfits.

Are they already returned in Belgium, or are they giving Victoria and Daniel's wedding as a pretext for a vacation in Stockholm?

There was said to be a brunch the next day for the royals who were still in Stockholm but not sure who attended or if there are any pictures so far.
The only pictures so far are of royals around Stockholm.

This evening there is a concert to celebrate the fact that Belgium will be the presidency of EU the next 6th months. The concert will take place at the royal palace.

The entire royal family will be present including queen fabiola.

It will also be broadcast live at Belgian Television tonigt.

It seems Queen Fabiola is pretty active even though they had mentioned she wont be attending many events after she fell ill.

Do you think it will be a gala dress event?

The Belgian Royal Family ahead of a concert at the occasion of the Belgian
Presidency of the European Union with Belgian bass-baritone Jose van Dam,
at a reception and in the garden of the Royal Castle in Laeken-Laken, in
Brussels, Friday 02 July 2010.

So far I couldn't find Fabiola, but maybe she attended the reception
before the concert and the pics will be updated.

I don't like Laurent's new haircut, but I love this kind of all family event.

Belgians took the same flight for Stockholm than Princess Astrid , Prince Lorenz and Prince Laurent who went to the royal wedding.
They noticed that Astrid and Lorenz were seated in economic class and Prince laurent alone in business class.
The only member of the RF who is working is indeed Prince Lorenz !
