I don’t think there is anything going on. It is simply IMO.

Prince Filip and Princes Matilde and their children visited the Olympic Games.

Princes Astrid and Prince Lorenz visited the Paralympics.

So, they are also present at the reception of the athletes with King Albert and Queen Paola.

She is not voting, she is helping her mother with the card.

I note tha the NVA has done well in local elections in Flanders. They are pro-indenpendence. Has anyone heard any of the independence parties discuss the role of the monarchy, if any, after a break-up of Belgium?

Philippe's choice of clothing goes so wrong when he isn't wearing his trusty grey suits

Prince Philippe and Prince Lorenz ’s Taylor is Degand -Brussels, the best for the moment.
King Albert II ’s Taylor is Van Gansbeke-Brussels .

I like the way Prince Phillippe is dressed., He is fair-skinned and it suits him this dark blue blazer.

you mean tailor, the person who makes their suits?

Degand-Brussels probably gets an order of 20 grey suits per year by a certain handsome Crown Prince

The blazer looks good, but the turtleneck doesn't look at the pictures of his Turkey mission, that blazer is made to wear with a tie

Sometimes the role of the monarchy comes up, especially because they want to reform the state, slim down the overload of governments in Belgium and mostely when the apanages are discussed. They are of course against any apanage for anyone else than the king and the heir.
But I don't think they care what will happen to the monarchy when and if Belgium ever gets split up, they don't want them as Kings of Flanders.

The N-VA, who've won the elections in Flanders, have always made it clear they want a Flemish republic.

Picture gallery of the traditional autumn concert at the Royal Palace, in Brussels, Wednesday 24 October 2012. This year, the royal family especially invited workers at prisons and penitential institutions to attend the concert.

And even Fabiola is there!
