Polish state visit to Belgium
26, 27 and 28 October 2004. President Alexander Kwasniewski of Poland and his wife will make a state visit to Belgium.
Here's the program: 26 October: 10h30 Arrival at Melsbroek airport. The couple is welcomed by the dukes of Brabant and Mr. De Gucht. 11h00 Official welcome ceremony at the place des palais in Brussels. 11h25 Official photo at the royal palace 12h00 ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier 12h45 Dinner offered by Mr. De Gucht at the Egmont palace 13h00 Private dinner with king and queen at the royal palace (the president's program: 15h05 Meeting with the presidents of parliament his wife's program: 15h05 Visit to child focus, with queen Paola) 17h30 Meeting with prime minister Verhofstadt 20h00 Gala dinner offered by king Albert and queen Paola Last edited by Hannelore; 10-26-2004 at 06:09 AM.

Visit to the province Luik 10h30 reception at the town hall (president's program 11h15 Seminary and visit to the spatial center of the university of Luik his wife's program 11h05 guided visit to the archeoforum 11h55 guided visit to the cristal factory of Val St Lambert) 13h10 reception and speech by the governor of Luik 13h30 dinner offered by the governor at the provincial palace then it's back to Brussels 16h25 Closing of the economic seminar (program of Mrs. Kwasniewski 17h10 visit to the Polish school) 18h00 Meeting with Polish community at the embassy 20h00 Dinner offered by the Polish president at the castle of Terhulpen.

Visit to the province Flemish Brabant 9h30 Reception at the townhall of Leuven 10h00 Visit to the library of the catholic university of Leuven (president's program: 10h50 Conference at the university his wife's program: 10h55 Visit to the Lemmensinstitute and concert) 12h12 Welcome by the province governor and the mayor of Diest. 12h30 reception at the museum 13h00 Dinner offered by the governor of the province 15h45 Visit to the cemetary of Polish soldiers in Lommel 17h15 the president and his wife leave for Warshaw.

Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium welcome Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and his wife Jolanta, 26 October 2004 at the Melsbroek military airport near Brussels. Kwasniewski and his wife are at the start of a three-day official visit to Belgium.

More of their arrival today.
Mathilde was in red all day, well it is her favorite color after all  She was very elegant, I saw her on the news, walking on that carpet, and she's got an unbelievable natural grace!Mrs. Kwasniewski is very elegant too...Maybe it's a Polish thing? :)

Thanks for all the great pictures Hannelore and Catherine.
Mathilde looks great at the welcome banquet. I love that garnet colour on her -- though hard to think of a colour that wouldn't look lovely on Mathilde! Were Laurent and Claire present? I noticed Astrid and Lorentz in one of the pictures.
