It is too bad that Princess Claire couldn't make it; however, I am really pleased to see Queen Fabiola. She looks lovely, and it is great to see her attending this event. I hope that she continues to gain strength. Here are some more photos, and a short article (in French):
La famille royale belge au te-deum de la Fête du Roi | Noblesse & Royautés
I love the photo of Princess Mathilde curtseying to Queen Fabiola.

Beautiful pictures, it's wonderful that Queen Fabiola attended even in her old age.
It's a shame that Claire could not find anyone to babysit.

Mystery about why Princess Claire was absent:
- Prince Laurent, when asked, said Claire stayed home with one of the boys who had fallen down the stairs
- however, Princess Claire has been taken of the list of invited people last Wednesday
- when the Press Office at the Palace was contacted, they said she hadn't found anyone to babysit the kids
--> it is now said that the Nanny resigned last week.

Very good to see Queen Fabiola looking so well.
However her nephew Prince Phillippe should get rid of that beard!

I must say... Queen Fabiola looks remarkably well for someone who has died twice within the past year.
They'll be calling her "Catwoman" soon, since it is becoming apparent that she is blessed with nine lives.

LOL! Butterwicke your post made me LAUGH OUT LOUD at my desk!
Vive la Reine!!
Just to add, I really like Prince Philippe's beard, it makes him look very distinguished! And as for poor Princess Claire...since when is a Royal princess of a reigning House unable to find someone to sit with her children??
I am sure there is a story there and I'd love to hear it...starting with why the nanny resigned before they could find her replacement?

I certainly hope that the story of one of the boys falling down the stairs isn't true. I just hope that everything is okay with their family.
